Ok, so we had close to 20 votes for the winners, considering this was all done in under a week, that's not too bad. Some categories had landslide winners, some were very close, with the winning taking it by just one vote. But thanks to everyone who took part, just like the Oscars themselves, we'll kick off with one of the biggies and then mix the order up a little. We didn't get many votes for foreign film or documentary, but I'll put up the winners anyway.

Not my top choice, but excellent nonetheless.

Actually, do you want discussion in this thread or the other general one?

It can go in this one. Waltz had four votes more than his nearest challenger.

In which case

I maintain that Waltz's character is basically Mattie Ross, the way he waves that paper around quoting a judge. He'd have been 3rd/4th out of that list for me.
Cinematography is a little baffling. Was there a split vote at all?

Waltz was so much fun in Django, I'm glad he won it.

The Master took cinematography by just one vote. Skyfall was in second place.

I voted for Skyfall too I think. I also think that was my one Moonrise Kingdom nod.

And hurrah for the Hathaway loss. I'm sure she's very nice but she really seems to want/expect it too much.

Adams.

I actually picked Weaver ahead of her, but by very little.

How many Hobbit votes did Gimli submit?

I didn't vote for it for effects because I hated the whole 3D/2zillion FPS experience and think it should lose all SFX awards for that. Also for the pretty poor race underground.

Second place was Juno Temple. Between them they had most of the votes.

I thought the FX in The Hobbit were alright, but the best of the year?

I thought the sound was pretty good in ZDT, particularly in the attack scenes. I probably voted for this and/or Skyfall for both sound awards?

Bollox - who could hear anything over all that shitty too loud bad music?!

I hope Skyfall does win cinematography - rewatching it yesterday it really is a great piece of work.

No argument with both of those, I'll be shocked if ZDT doesn't take that award at the actual Oscars too.

I think so, yeah. I don't have the individual votes in front of me right now, just the document with the overall total.
