Ok, I've edited an email address into the first post. Here's how it'll work. The eligible categories are Picture Director Lead Actor Supporting Actor Lead Actress Supporting Actress Original Screenplay Adapted Screenplay Animated Film Art Direction/Production Design Cinematography Costume Design Editing Make Up/Hair Score Song Sound Editing Sound Mixing Visual Effects I'm not going to include the shorts categories, or documentaries or foreign films. Simply because the shortlists of eligible films are often so much more difficult to see, I'd imagine most voters here would be restricted to the easily available titles, which seems to make it a bit of a pointless exercise. If anyone feels really really strongly about including them, let me know, but again, they'd be restricted to the Academy eligibility lists. For each category, you make a ballot, for best picture you can vote for 10 films, every other category is a maximum of five. Vote in preferential order in each category. You don't have to vote in every category, and you don't have to vote for the maximum number in each category. The Academy uses a preferential ballot system, but given they've got several thousand more voters than us, I'm going to change it to a simple points system for the nominations. Your number one choice gets five points, your number five gets one point. When it comes to best picture, your number one will get ten points. You can vote for an actor several times in a category (As I mentioned in the earlier post, Bruce Willis in Looper and Willis in Moonrise Kingdom, for example) but only the performance with the most overall points will be nominated. You can't vote for the same performance in two categories, you have to decide if you think Waltz is supporting or lead in Django. All ballots to be sent by email or pm, any posted on thread will not be counted. Votes to be in by midnight Saturday 23rd Feb, then I'll announce our nominees on the 24th - Oscar night. I originally included a link for the best songs nominations, but it might be easier to cut and paste the eligible entries here, just in case quote:
