Saw this last night (read dragged by wife to see it) and I actually enjoyed it. True it has major flaws; poor accents, average attractive lead characters and lack of knowing what style to go for, but it's saving grace is Emma Thompson who is simply amazing in it. Why she doesn't play evil more often is a mystery. It's not as soppy as Twilight, but still had an edgyness to it to set it apart from other comparisons. Give it a go, it's good fun, especially for the church and brownie scenes alone, sends shivers down my spine now.

Ah I had very low expectations of this film when I saw the trailer like the years following Harry Potter's Debut now everyone is looking for the next Twilight. And it has met those low expectations by the sounds of things I'll never know for sure because I'll never pay to see this trash but at least if it sucks that bad we can rule out the inevitable sequels that would have followed and can get on with our lives while Hollywood moves on to find the next cash cow and we all wait for a film from an original screenplay or stick to foreign films

i completely hated this movie it totally ruined the books, alot of stuff from the books was either changed or cut out from the movie which just made me hate it more, the only good thing about this movie is emma thompsons pure awesum acting talent other than that this movie completly blows, sucks major ass!!!
