Aren't they one year out...The Hurt Locker won 2010, King's Speech 2011 and The Artist won 2012.. etc

The Hurt Locker did win in 2010 but it was a 2009 film. The awards aren't for the films that came out in that year. It's the previous year.
Same with the others. King's Speech was a 2010 film, The Artist was a 2011 film, Slumdog was an 2008 film
