Okay so this didn't happen last year due to Audiophile being dead, but then I realised that having a poll would, like, get more people to post in Audiophile. So alright! Yeah! Let's do this!

THE RULES: post your favourite albums in numbered order up to a maximum of fifty albums, but preferably a minimum of twenty, in the format ALBUM - ARTIST (pleeeeease do so for the sake of my sanity later). If you can't order them by preference, alphabetically/by release date/etc is fine, but the points will still be distributed by their position in your chart. A sample list may look a bit like this:
  1. Bold As Brass - Cliff Richard
  2. Something's Goin' On - Cliff Richard
  3. Silver - Cliff Richard
  4. Wired For Sound - Cliff Richard
  5. Cliff Sings - Cliff Richard
  6. When In Rome - Cliff Richard
  7. Sincerely, Cliff - Cliff Richard
  8. I'm Nearly Famous - Cliff Richard
  9. Listen To Cliff! - Cliff Richard
  10. Green Light - Cliff Richard
  11. Tracks And Grooves - Cliff Richard
  12. When In Spain - Cliff Richard
  13. Cliff At Christmas - Cliff Richard
  14. Real As I Wanna Be - Cliff Richard
  15. Don't Stop Me Now! - Cliff Richard
  16. Established 1958 - Cliff Richard
  17. Stronger - Cliff Richard
  18. Rock n Roll Juvenile - Cliff Richard
  19. The 31st of February Street - Cliff Richard
  20. Public Castration Is A Good Idea - Swans
as the maximum number of albums in a list is fifty, Bold As Brass receives 50 points and every successive entry receives one less (2nd 49 pts, 3rd 48 pts...). A full list of fifty will continue like this up to 1 point for 50th. EPs, Live albums, collaborations, soundtrack albums, etc are all fine, but compilations are out (though if it can be considered an album in its own right, ie Magical Mystery Tour/Singles Going Steady, I'll allow it). There are no limits to the number of albums per artist in your list, unless you choose it to be so.

So post a list today, before the closing date of Sunday March 31st. Tell your friends to post a list. Pimp this thread across the length and breadth of the forum. GET IN HERE

I'll edit mine in here. It would be nice if it actually happened this year, there's been too many of these sort of things that fell off the radar in 2012. Perhaps we should all go on some kind of US military-style recruitment drive or something.

Edit: my list, probably subject to alteration:

1. Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan
2. Crazy On The Weekend - Sunhouse
3. Murmur - REM
4. Heaven Or Las Vegas - The Cocteau Twins
5. Unhalfbricking - Fairport Convention
6. Led Zeppelin II - Led Zeppelin

8. Hootenanny - The Replacements
9. Nowhere - Ride
10. Neu! - Neu!
11. Discovery - Daft Punk

13. Copper Blue - Sugar
14. Musicforthemorningafter - Pete Yorn
15. Exile On Main Street - The Rolling Stones
16. You Got My Mind Messed Up - James Carr
17. Leftism - Leftfield
18. The Sun Is Often Out - Longpigs
19. Ghosts Of the Great Highway - Sun Kil Moon
20. Oh My God, Charlie Darwin - The Low Anthem

Indeed. I actually really enjoy doing it, but it can't go ahead without sufficient interest to make a forum-wide list that actually reflects most of the forum's regular posters worthwhile. (I see the absolute minimum as no albums getting in without being on at least two lists, but even then that'd be far below what I'd hope for.) Unfortunately, the only way of accurately gauging interest is throwing it out there and hoping for the best.

I'll post my line after I've finished my Top 666 thread so as not to give the end away for anyone who's actually reading it.

Just a question... does it have to be full-length albums, or are EP's of original material okay?

I'm okay with EPs (I'll edit that into the opening post) - honestly, I prefer to run something like this with as few restrictions as possible so pretty much everything that isn't like a Best Of or similar is okay with me.

So about expanding list sizes. Those of you who want to keep it to twenty it's fine to do so, those want bigger lists what's the upper limit? I'm inclined to say either 40 or 50.

Also, just one other thing since I only remembered Firefox done goofed and stuff like automatic numbered lists are just a big jumble of code now - if you're posting big lists, then it's actually easier for me to count the votes if you actually post it without numbers but in order. (I'd imagine most doing larger lists are doing it up in something like Calc first anyway, so having the correct number of entries shouldn't be a problem.)

I could easily go to 50, obviously. Don't want to go too high to give you too much to count

compilations are out (though if it can be considered an album in its own right, ie Magical Mystery Tour/Singles Going Steady, I'll allow it).

Sorry to be a pain, but what if the compilation is of material by various artists that don't have any easy or obvious album release? Like some of the Mississippi Records compilations, especially Mortika.
