So I've been ill today and phoned in sick. I woke up at 11.45am, had a lemsip, went back to bed and watched The Natural (starring Robert Redford) and then Gone Baby Gone on bluray.

What have you done on your sick day?

Friday I came home and watched Star Trek Nemesis and dozed for a bit. However, despite still being ill since then, I manfully dragged myself into work Tuesday, yesterday and today. Cos, y'know, I'm a fucking legend. And so forth.

Also cos if I don't do my work nobody else will so I'm only piling up MORE work to do when I'd get back. Which is crap, but there you go. And I work hard when I'm in work, and don't take advantage of the fact I work in an office on my own to doss around on Internet foru..... oh.

I got into work yesterday at 9am looking like a ghost (with several people asking me if I was okay, to which I said "yeah, I feel fine") and within an hour I was driving back home feeling like I was dying (/exaggeration). I then slept until 6am this morning.

So I slept.

Exciting.

Last time I was off sick, I stopped puking quite early in the day so watched DVDs and then baked bread for the first time since high school!!! As I am 35 that is probably a good indicator that I was still ill.

The time before that I was off with a shitty ear infection for 3 days. The first two days I curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself, then the third day I felt much better but not tip-top so I went to the cinema to see Super 8. I felt pretty guilty but I really wanted to see it and as the cinema was 25 miles from work I figured I'd probably not get spotted. It worked.

Surely if you passed the three month it wouldn't have been extended to 6 months!
