Dangle it in equal length around my neck, and then loop both ends around twice.

 Depends how cold it is. If it's really cold, the loop-n-through. Normal child, just crossed and kept in place by my coat. not tied, or looped, just draped round my neck, crossed in front of me, and coat buttoned.

 I do the loop and through if chilly, the cross over when not so chilly, and the wrap around when the brass monkey cries.

 I usually fold in half, round my neck and loop through for maximum warmth. I love chunky scarks, that way of wearing looks great for chunky scarfs.

If I'm feeling fun, I will take my long scarf, wrap it round my neck and pull it back so it falls far at the front and pretend I'm a Hogwarts students.
