If I were to ever get a cat, I'm calling it Buster, after Mr Keaton.

I have an ex who had a cat called Buster, so there you go. On a similar note I named my dog Charlie, after Chaplin. He's now my parents dog. I like the idea of naming animals after real life people rather than characters, I think. I think poets and artists suit cats - I would like to call a cat Lord Byron for example. For a dog maybe sciencey people are better, Einstein, or obviously Pavlov.

GREAT SCOTT.

New plan, second dog will be Einstein, the cat will be called Great Scott.

One assumes that the cat will be well fed, so it is fat, and therefore....heavy....

Here all week.

When you pick him up, do you feel the need to cry and say thank you to your mother?

When I was a kid I had a kitten I called Bugs Bunny. Not sure why but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Also: that kitten caught a cold and died.

While we're sharing these "oh, that's sweet isn't OMG THAT IS JUST TRAGIC" stories...

My dog was called Lucky.

He developed cancer of the pancreas, and died aged 9.

If I had a dog, I'd call it Noel Edmonds. I just like the image of it running away from me in a park, and me shouting "Noel Edmonds! Come back, Noel Edmonds!" as onlookers looked on, worriedly.

My mate had a snake called Selma. Presumably after:

Her name is Salma.

When we move to a larger house we're gonna have two dogs. A Border Terrier called Hadley, and a Boston Terrier called Hope in honour of my favourite movie Aliens.

It's almost like someone likes Pirates movies...

Get a pet sparrow. Call it Phil, just to fuck with people.

My brother wanted to call our dog Snoop Doggy Dog. He was overruled.

My next dog shall be named Sir Didymus.

My cat that died in September was called Willow (Buffy), the one I still have is called Zoe (Firefly) although that is mostly because I like the name.
