Season 1 of Louie starts on FOX tomorrow at 9. Comedy drama from Louis CK, it's finished season 3 in the US I believe.

Good timing from my perspective as I'd planned on buying this, thinking it was never going to be shown in the UK. Seems to be highly regarded critically, similar format to Curb and if its anywhere near as funny as Louis CK's stand up, it must be worth watching.

Anyone else watching or seen it already?

Seen a handful of episodes which were fucking awesome - if you like his stand-up you'll absolutely love it (not least because it features a lot of stand-up footage anyway).

If you like his stand up, you will love this show.

I'm not a massive fan (I think he's okay, but I wouldn't go and see him live or buy the DVDs or anything), but it's a million times better than Lucky Louie, if you ever saw that (I can't understand the high praise it's got retrospectively, cos it was a terrible HBO sit-com which was like every 90s American sit-com [so dated, as well as bad], albeit with more adult humour).

Have seen all of season 1 and it's great...a really good mixture of proper laughs, bit of surrealism and thoughtful drama even. His 'Chewed Up' stand up set is absolutely hilarious!

Seasons 2 & 3 are quite a bit stronger, but a chance to see season 1again is well worth it.

Its good how shows like Louie and Parks and Recreation (now on S5 in the US) are finally getting a UK airing.

What channel is Parks airing on?

Re Louie, the first episode was pretty solid if unremarkable. I like the whimsical surreal touches so far, like the date escaping via helicopter.

The BBC has picked it up but haven't decided on a channel yet.

BBC3 would be my guess.

Parks and Recreation is going to be on BBC4 and scheduled for early 2013. No exact date as yet.

I watched the first episode after all the critical praise... Unfunny American humour and painfully dull! I'm gonna give the second episode a chance cos it's about him tackling his homophobia apparently. If no improvement, i'll be giving the rest of it all a miss.

I'd urge you to try and stick with it...it's unlike any show that's been on before, here or in the States. There's a truly brutal way he deals with heckling which is brilliant

One of the BEST comedy shows ever. Hugely underrated and a ridiculous cast. Just skip the first season...

Liked the first episode; didn't much care for the second.

Been watching this over the last week.

Season 1 is brilliant. Every episode has at least two laugh out loud moments.

Season 2 and what i've seen of season 3 aren't as funny but that's not a bad thing - the topics of episodes just became more serious and it's refreshing to see such real situations in a show. For example - when Louie is on a date and he gets started on by a jock - uncomfortable viewing.

The poker scene in season 2 has to be one of the best written scenes I have ever seen.
