If, as mentioned half-jokingly in the top 100 thread, there is ever a Westerns round, I'm in, given the following conditions:

a) The Searchers is not nominated,
b) see a).
c) if it is, I'm not expected to re-watch it, cos it's rubbish.
d) see b).

Homer, the Pauline Kael of Empire.

And yeah, if a long-termer doesn't like the idea of a theme round they don't have to take part, but they do get first-refusal on a spot, without it counting as part of their terms, if they'd like to take part.

Thanks for the new title, rawls.

It wasn't meant as a compliment.

TRM and Reb would need to sign off on the westerns round as well, btw, so I can't give a definite answer. But I don't think there's been any suggestions yet for the next theme round, so they may both be ok with it.

Yet here we are.

Genuinely up for expanding my tastes. This year I'm on a big "first time viewing" bender, so it'd be good to try something that challenges my prejudices.

That means watching Westerns I've not seen before. I've seen The Searchers, people...

(Have at ye, post-editors.)

I'd be well up for a Westerns one

I've nominated a Western for this round, but I'd certainly like to see a Westerns round, just so long as I don't end up having to watch Dead Man again.

We time it so that the thread asking for members runs for the length of the current first round, so we make the draw once that hits the deadline, which I think is the 19th of March.
