We're going to need several members (lol, members) for round 17. Not just short-term, but replacing the three departing long-termers (Gimli, Paul and Imp') Matty still has two rounds of his long-term to finish up. So if you're interested, let us know, email us your nomination to hofnominations@gmail.com It's not a theme round, so you have freedom to nominate anything you like as long as there's a r2 or not too expensive import dvd release and it's more than two years old (also, nothing that's been nominated in the last four rounds, or anything that has ever won a HoF)

So if you're interested, let us know, send us an email with your nom. Be sure to say if you're interested in a long-term slot, a short-term slot, or both. If you want to be considered for a long-term slot, the only requirement is that you have to have completed at least one short-term round. Short-term slots are open for everyone. If any of our long-termers who have just finished their time want to put their name again then they're more than welcome to. They take the same chances of making it out of the draw as everyone else.

One question: does the nom absolutely have to be at least two years old, or is it permissible for it to be a few months shy of two years old?

If it's on the border then it's probably fine. Send me a pm and I can let you know for definite. You don't want to roll over your nom from last time though?

I'm kinda dithering over that and two other films.

PM sent.

It's probably about time I get involved in this.

Happy to be a long term member if you need the numbers - but I'll accommodate whatever.

Just read your criteria properly Rawls, so short term (with a view to long term later on) will do just fine.

Will have a think regarding a nomination and I'll PM you later on.

Just reading through the nominations we've had so far. Some of you are DESPERATE for a win.

Received the noms from MC, Hubu, Rebel and Justin so far. If you've sent one and I haven't mentioned you then it's gone astray somewhere and you should resend.

I'd be happy to take part in a non themed HoF. Long or short term is fine by me.

Are you ok to wait till tomorrow for my nom though? I'd like to put some thought into it seeing as I'm not restricted by the theme this time.

Yeah, that's fine you have two months to pick a choice, the draw won't be made until the end of round one of the current HoF. And it's not on a first come first served basis, all the names are randomly drawn, so there's no rush to grab a slot.

Replied. It'll start when the classic HoF finishes. So if that goes to plan, 2 and a half months from now. We open this thread so early to give us time to make sure we get enough people to take part in the next round. That way, if we have a couple of weeks still to go and we're missing a few noms we can twist some arms to take part and not delay the start of the next round.

Fair enough I trust this HoF considering I usually skulk around and watch it all go down and it runs pretty well. The Audiophile HoF on the other hand

The revolution in the audio HoF means it might run a bit swifter now (Sorry Fritzl)

With this, if someone needs the deadline pushed back, we usually are willing to do so by a week or two, beyond that we just move on without their votes.

I'm usually terrible with watching films in the order I should (for example, Im making my through Ghibli and Orson Welles filmography, then instead of watching those films, I divert off and watch other random stuff), but things like poll deadlines often give me a massive kick in the right direction
