 Have you seen the track listing? I thought given the album cover, calling track 2 Getting to Know Me was a bit much. Then I saw track 5 was called Muffle That Fart.

Anyway, Dead Kennedys, Robert Johnson, Miles Davis and Spoon are all excellent. Don't know the Millie Jackson album or the Juana Molina one. Baby Huey should clearly win though.

 Baby Huey is the one that intrigues me the most and is the first one I have put on simply because I do not know him and he has an awsome name.

On the corner is a fantastic Miles Davis album, not quite as good as Jack Johnson in my opinion, but certainly one of his best, Juana Molina's Un Dia was one of my favourite albums of whichever year it was it came out, and Segundo was one of the ones I bought in the wake of that, It'll be good to dust it off. Spoon, I've still only really listened to the one album (not that one) and despite really liking it, somehow never got round to more.Dead Kennedys I have listened to a bit, but not properly, and Robert Johnson again, someone I have heard and listened to, but never really properly taken the time to appreciate him. Looking forward to it all.

Of the rest of the nominees: I've heard Miles Davis' Bitches Brew and loved it. I listened to some Spoon album a couple years ago, but don't remember anything else about it. The rest I don't remember ever listening to anything they've done. I have always avoided listening to Dead Kennedys, though I'm not actually sure why. Baby Huey is the one I'm most intrigued by though, and I'm listening to the album right now. Two songs in and I really dig this.

 I was thinking of nominating Jack Johnson as well (and In A Silent Way is my favourite of his albums), but On The Corner is his most nasty and weird and confrontational album so I love it. I didn't get round to writing the blurb yet, but it's like a drum n bass album slowed down and stretched out or something.

I've had a few of these lying around unlistened for a while so I'm glad to get around to them, other than that the Dead Kennedys album is pretty good but it's been years since I last listened to it, I'm not big on Spoon but good album that one, and I've got a Robert Johnson 'complete recordings' thing and it's amazing. which brings me onto my question, is the running order particularly important in the KOTDBS release/should I resequence the complete recordings to listen to it that way?

The only thing is that I'd make sure you pick the same versions that were chosen for KOTDBS because The Complete Recordings includes alternate takes of a lot of its tracks. It's been a while since I've listened to TCR though, so I don't know how much they differ from each other.

 Thanks, I've got them.

Listened to the Miles Davis and the Spoon noms today - the Miles was really interesting even if I kind of zoned out on the home stretch of the last track. I always have trouble concentrating with jam-like tracks. I prefer the more classic In A Silent Way-era Miles but John McLaughlin is great as usual and it reminded me that I still haven't listened to Bitches Brew yet, must sort that out.

The Spoon record I loved, and will be acquiring for the iPod post-haste. The weird thing about me and Spoon is that I also love You Got Yr Cherry Bomb, but for whatever reason have not bothered with the rest of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. Kinda like when I loved Fake Empire by The National but left the rest of Boxer gathering dust, only to find it is one of my favourites.

Just the Dead Kennedys and Millie Jackson to go now.

Sweet. Personally I think Girls Can Tell is their best LP, but I don't think it's readily available in the UK at all. : (

Just have the Kennedys to listen to. A solid round across the board, really.
