I know we have threads for the best albums you've listened to in 2013, and the albums we are excited about in 2013, but I thought it would be a good idea, even if it's just for me, to have a thread for albums released in 2013 that we've heard and really enjoyed.

I don't know about the rest of you but at the end of the year, when a friend or colleague asks you what your favourite albums of the last year have been, my mind goes blank and I forget when things were released and end up simply mumbling the last album I bought. This could also be a great place to simply recommend an album you've just bought to the rest of us,

So far I've not listened to much new, but this album briefly snuck onto our playlist at work and I found myself really enjoying it. A step up from the last album in my opinion simply because it has a richer musical variety to it.

Was looking forward to this last year but the release date kept getting pushed back, really enjoying it!

Ulrich Schnauss - A Long Way To Fall

A thousand times this. Got it today and it's one of the best albums I've ever heard.

Gonna put this one straight in here:

Only listened a couple of times but I can safely say it's bloody good.

Best album of 2013. Already leaked, but still waiting for the vinyl!

Foxygen - We Are the 21st Ambassadors of Peace & Magic

Only really started listening to this because I saw their name in a magazine and it amused me (It's like regular Oxygen... but Foxy...) and I genuinely really like the album.

a few recently have caught my attention.

Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt

Low - The Invisble Way

Phospherescent - Muchacho

The Phospherescent one, I struggled with their last album, but have been impressed by this one, reminds me slightly of the destroyer album in the electronic influences

The Low One sounds pretty much exactly as you would expect a Low Album produced by Jeff Tweedy to sound, which is no bad thing. I loved their last album a lot, and whilst this doesn't quite live up to that, it's another really strong effort from them.

The Waxahatchee one I stumbled across, it's a lo-fi female singer, reminds me a little of the first Liz Phair album, but less 90s. I've found myself listening to it quite a lot.

I haven't been keeping up like I should but I've enjoyed the new Bowie and Marnie Stern recently, and my favourite so far this year has been Mala by Devendra Banhart.
