So what do you hope will happen in 2013 in relation to gaming? Lets keep it to realistic ideas that could actually happen or have some degree of truth or rumour attached to them.

My biggest hope is we get the third (final?) Arkham game. and I mean a proper third game which continues the story and all of the teasers left around Arkham City. None of this bollocks that was rumoured a while ago about a silver age set game which had the justice league and the joker in it. I mean i'd like that game but not if it's enforced by Warner Brothers at the expense of an Arkham 3. So yeah that's my wish/hope/desire.

AI that will allow enimies to actually be smart and challenging not just a stream of morons poking their heads up from behind chest high walls at regular intervals.

The next gen would be nice, GTA V being as awesome as it looks and Epidode 3/Half Life 3 finally showing it's face.

I hope that Wasteland 2 is everything I'm hoping it will be

I hope that the rumours of Hideo doing the next Silent Hill game are true, based on him stating something like "it's about the scenery and environment... that's what is scary, you don't need big monsters" THANK YOU, please go for it. Forget about the combat

I hope that someone will come to their fucking senses and remember what made Resident Evil great was zombies. Resident Evil could not have been any game but Resident Evil. Resi 2 by any other name couldn't have been any game but Resi Evil. Resi 3 by any other name couldn't have been any game but Resi Evil. Resi 4,5 and 6 could have been called something else and nobody would have been any the wiser.

I hope that FInal Fantasy games become great again, and fun, and quirky, and inventive, and beautiful. From X onwards they have all bored me to death. And whatever they do PLEASE ditch that shitty combat system from the last game or whatever it was, XVXVXVXVXVIIIXIXIXIX - 2.3.4, the one with the globes and you had to finish one world to open a path to another. Yawn.

A next gen Xbox and Half-Life 3 would do me nicely.

If the new Tomb Raider, Gears of War and Splinter Cell games don't suck that would be a bonus.

If HL3 ever does emerge, I imagine Valve will want it as an exclusive on the Steam Box.

My hope is that the next generation xbox is properly backwards compatible instead of that half-hearted emulator bollocks we had on the 360.

 That Game survive out the year (same with HMV) as there are times I don't know what game I want and I prefer to browse around than click on a website.

Also that the Last of Us is as good as it looks like its going to be and Ni No Kuni lives up to the hype
