Didn't like last nights episode. I found it more uncomfortable than funny, and I think Bill felt the same given his quietness. There's a thin line between being cheeky and being nasty and Amstell tends to cross it a little too often for my liking. Lamarr got away with it because he didn't ever come across as smug. What was with Amstell's obsession with Penny whatshername? And calling Ben Elton a sellout is such a cliche. Is it 2001 again? Hopefully next week will improve.

I would agree not a good episode.  I just got the feeling Amstell was bullying Penny Smith(?) more than anything else which to me was not funny and I just had an urge to smack him around the back of the head and tell him to stop it and ususally I find him ok.  The fact Amy Winehouse has a face like a smacked baboons arse didn't help nor did the fact she was incredibly unfunny yet at the same time seemed very self congratulatory.

Wow, I had no idea that The Barrowman was THAT gay. He was almost a charicature of a homosexual.

Really wanted them to bring up Shark Attack III.

They could have had for 'Complete the line'...."I'm feeling kinda wired..............."

Oh well, still funny stuff. I'm really liking Amstell as a host.

The Barrowman had me in tears again.  He's such a big kid.

Amstell's okay, but he's nowhere near as cool as Mark Lemarr.

I don't like Amstell at all, he has none of the charisma Mark has.

The banter between Fairbrass and Lamarr was always brilliant. To have him and Barrowman on the same show would be a riot.
What would your fantasy line-up be? Mine:

Phil's Team:
Richard Fairbrass
Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin' Criminals)

Bill's Team:
Ryan Jarman (The Cribs)
Sean Lock

Host: Lauren Laverne (her guest spot hosting was miles better than Amstell's - she should have got the job)

I really enjoyed the banter between Amstell and Barrowman and Phill Jupitus's interpretation of a steam dildo.

Is it just me or does it appear that Bill Bailey is now totally bemused by the entire process.  He just sort of sits there saying very little and only chipping in occassionally, spending the rest of the time looking vaguely confused.  I would agree that Barrowman stole the show last night.

I found Barrowman an unbearable attention whore.

However, the Phil Jupitius victorian dildo thing had me chuckling.

Barrowmans personality should grate on me (no one can be that happy without some sort of medication) but I just cant bring myself to dislike him.

I got the impression Amstell had a bit of crush on him. He seemed to spend a lot of time talking to him or making flirty comments in his direction.

I think Amstell has picked up this show and actualy made it watchable again and funny which it sure wasn't near the end of the Mark's era.

I miss Mark, Simon doesn't just seem to 'fit' in somehow.  It's odd, if Lamarr has a dig at someone...you know it's genuinely funny, when Simon will say something it seems...unfunny :/

I reckon Bill Bailey is confused with the choice of Simon taking over the show.

The last 2 lamarr series were almost unwatchable and it was no loss if I missed a show. Amstell's not perfect but still better than Lamarr. Bill has been very quiet this whole new series, wouldn't surprise me if he moves on.

Why do i keep seeing Bill Oddie on TV? He was on Buzzcocks, 8 out of 10 cats and at least a couple of other such shows. The guy brings nothing and isn't funny whatsoever, so why include him as a guest?

I was thinking the very same thing. If anything, he detracts from the show.

just watched tonights episode thought it was very funny again, with better guests this week. Lily Allen was quite funny and a bit quicker than i though she would be, and Jamelia was good aswell. i wish it was running for longer.

That was a proper ep of Buzzcocks, good guests and Bill is back on form now that he doesn't have to compete with and irritating and looney guest

Bit out of order wheeling out Steve Strange just to laugh at him for being a gibbering wreck. I really don't like this trend that's developing of booking guests on panel shows just to humilate them (usually folk off reality telly) and make the host/regulars feel superior, it's fucking lazy and unpleasant.

Bill spent most of this series with flu or something - you can hear it in every episode (which would have been shot back to back probably in the space of a couple of days, given how short this series was) bar last night's final one, which was probably filmed on its own.

I didn't like the fact that it seemed to be pretty much The Jamelia Show as literally every 3 seconds Amstell would find some way of turning the focus back to her. It got pretty annoying after a while (not that I don't like her or anything).

Mark Watson was hilarious though. I think he's great!

They probably expect a few good natured jibes but there does seem to be a tendancy now for pretty blatant bullying where they keep, quite viciously, attacking the individuals and that to me is not comedy and detracts from the show.

Saw the repeat tonight. Hilarious as usual but thought Lily Allen was needlessly rude to Jamelia.

Plus get the feeling that it wont be long before Bill decides to leave. I dont think he connects with Amstell.

Preston from The Ordinary Boys stormed off the set during the filming of the new series after Simon Amstell took the piss out of his missus! Can't wait to see how they handle this in the edit.
