I'm sure everyone, no matter the colour of their hair, can agree that what the forum really needs is more epic meltdowns. I'm expecting something on Thursday when the Oscar noms come out.

That would be good, yeah. When I'm sad I hope for forum meltdowns.

Meltdowns are fine, and those who I think are susceptible to them will NEVER be blocked by me. It's more the passive-aggressive wankers who do nothing but troll. I'd like to do what Rhubarb does and just scroll past them, but inevitably I'll end up reading what they say and either a) get pissed off and dragged into an argument or b) exercise great self-control and not say anything and then stew about it muttering angrily instead.

Can't be doing with it.

The reference to my post shows you haven't blocked me - Is this because i'm susceptible to a meltdown?

Alright, new new years resolution - I vow to have a meltdown this year, but do it when Matty is not online, just to spite him.

We should run a book on the most unlikely forum meltdown of the year.

Then provoke someone into a meltdown.

Good luck with that, ginge. Such is my lack of life outside these forums that the only time you'll catch me out is when I'm sleeping. I think that makes me the big winner in this situation.

To be honest, wouldn't surprise me greatly. Although that would be a terrifically boring feed, save for pondering how someone can live in such a messy enviroment.

2) Cut down on drinking. I don't drink lots, but I've got into the habit of getting to the weekend and buying beers for both the Friday and Saturday night that I end up drinking by myself on the night, which is a little depressing. It's not good for my wallet, and not good for my gut, so if I can cut back on that, or at least switch to having spirits, that'll be a good start.

Oh... Friday and Saturday binges was actually what I was aiming to get to.

1. Stop smoking weed and ciggies altogether. The weed one is a toughie because most of my social life revolves around it so it's time to cut some people loose from my life. That's the hardest thing to deal with.

With regards to the above I was wrong, why the hell isn't it common knowledge that going cold turkey with weed can cause profuse sweating for the first week or two? I was prepared for the difficulty in sleeping but Jesus wept it's a pain in the arse having to shower at 4:30am because I'm drenched with sweat .

Still, today has been a massive improvement. I haven't had to change my t-shirt once yet so hopefully I'm over the worst of it .

Anyway that's my first week done and dusted, probably the first time I've voluntarily gone a week without weed since I was 17. I've had a couple of ciggies but the aim was to stop the weed first and then stop the ciggies altogether after that bridge had been crossed.

I'm fucking bored though .

Well done slick. I think you should just go cold turkey on them both at once though, save going through the withdrawals twice.

Find other outlets/interests?

Also, I'd recommend the e-cig route if you can for reducing the cigarettes. If it can work with a decades long chain smoker it can work for anyone.

And congratulations - getting off either is no mean feat

Harry, you're doing really well. Personally, my advice would have been to wait until the spring; better weather, more chance to get out and about and a general improvement in mood meaning kicking the weed isn't half as painful, but you seem to be managing. As for the sweats, do you drink a lot too (booze I mean?), this can contribute a hell of a lot.

Cheers guys.

I should be starting my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (the acronym is too open to abuse on this forum ) training again at the end of the month so that'll get me out of the house 3 nights a week. That should help alleviate the boredom a bit. I can't wait for that to be honest because one of the sessions is on Friday night and I reckon if my resolve is going to waver it'll be at the weekends.

Chief, I did consider kicking them both at the same time but I thought it'd be pushing it a bit. I've only had about 6 ciggies in the last week so I'm not too concerned about that at the moment. I've never been much of a cigarette smoker anyway apart from in spliffs of course and when I'm drinking so I don't think it'll take too much effort to kick them when the weed withdrawals have gone. If I do struggle then I can get patches off the doctor as I'm a registered asthmatic (although fuck knows why, I have an inhaler just in case but haven't really used it in ages).

Reb, I haven't been much of a drinker for a while. I used to go out a couple of times a week but over the last year I'd say I went out about 5 or 6 times and I'm not much of a house drinker. I can see that changing now though because as stated above most of my social life has revolved around weed for the best part of my adult life (especially during the last year) and I'm going to have to do something to counter that lack of social interaction.

Had my first decent night's sleep since I stopped last night and I've also started remembering my dreams. Something I've not been able to do since I was a teenager.
