 Rather than resurrect last year's thread and get depressed at what we failed to resolve to do, let's have a new thread where we can record our failures.

What resolutions do you hope to make but will probably break?

Be better at updating film list. I have kept a record of viewings this year, just not ordered about 8 months of them yet!

And get on top of work better - spending a year feeling swamped wasn't fun.

Read more - I read a pathetic 3 or 4 books this year. Compared to my degree where I was reading 2 or 3 a week.

Write more - never get to review as many films as I would like.

Make an effort to see more films at the cinema - through a combination of work and laziness I haven't got out to the cinema that much this year and missed a lot of great films; I hope this year I can change that.

Properly learn Spanish and brush up on my French.

Drop a stone in weight - not overweight, but could do with being slightly leaner.

Find a girl who will tolerate me.

 Going to get in shape and eat a healthier diet. I've ordered a swimsuit so I can take up swimming. I've written down a plan on healthy eating and I'm going to try and stick to it the best I can.

Cut down on drinking and limit myself to two glasses of wine a week.

 Drink more red wine, turns out i like it!

It's not strictly a new years resolution as i started a few days ago, but i want to beat my PB's on various cycling and running events i've done of the last few years which don't seem to get much better each year. I want to see big changes!

I have 4:

Learn 4 new piano pieces. I left my electric keyboard in London but have access to a piano at work which i can only really play during my lunch break so 4 new pieces is achievable.

Read 40 books by the end of the year. There are some mammoth books I want to read so have made a target less than one book a week.

Run a mile in under 7mins 30seconds.

Quit smoking

Go to the cinema more. I've managed to make amends for the last two years in the last fortnight of 2012, but now that I'm within walking distance of a cinema I want to make a regular thing of it again.

Get a new job. The one I have allows me to pay the bills etc, but if I'm honest it scares the crap out of me and I don't know if I'm going to quit or get sacked

Do more... stuff.

 I might give the writing thing a go. I quite like composing little bits and pieces of prose here and there,

That and stop eating so much shit. I go the gym a fair bit but that tends to be cancelled out by all the crisps etc...

I want to stop drinking for a few months. Beginning to get very bad with hangovers (not that they are regular occurrence), just i find it gets in the wsy of a lot of things. My main resolution is to get on a career ladder and on my way up. Then maybe I can really start enjoying living

 Now that I have a steady source of income and will soon have a house and shit, my resolutions are -

- Read and write more. Both have fallen by the wayside in the last few years and I'd like to knock out two plays this year as well as read a lot more than two books (my grand total last year).
- Exercise. I need to set an endgoal for this, but I'm a ball of flesh and I need to go to a gym fcs
- Start collecting vinyl.

That is all really.

- Write more blogs
- Make more time to watch my archive of movies (Sky plus, DVD, Bluray)
- Get a girlfriend (this is the vaguest one, cause I don't hold out hope)
