Any of the bloody awful Oceans films. Tragic waste of talent, but then the director has never made a good film.

Soderbergh has made a lot of good films, a couple of great ones.

Paul has the best comedy cast assembled in ages and was an enormous let down. Not terrible but with the quality involved it should have been so much more.

Oh, I was so looking forward to The Expendables and then I blew it by watching the movie.
Soooo disappointing

I do like Paul but I have to agree it should have been much better.

The fact it was written by Frost and Pegg too adds to it being a let down. I would go further than you guys I thought it was awful, Wiig was badly treated in that film.

It was a rotten part for one of America's most promising comic actresses, assuming you were asking about Wiig?

I was, yes. That's fair enough that you think that but she wouldn't have taken the part if she didn't like it. Also, she apparently improvised a fair bit so lot of the lines would have been down to Wiig herself. To say she was 'badly treated' is a tad much considering nobody forced her to either be in it or say anything she wouldn't have wanted to say.

Well it was just a figure of speech relating to her character, wasn't suggesting they abused her on set or anything

And I never thought you were suggesting that.

My point still stands, though, she took the part and improvised some lines so how her character turned out is down to her too.

Don't think her improvising some lines means she shaped the character, not totally anyway. Just thoght it was a lame part.

Also, i don't understand the hate for Tropic Thunder. It was genuinely funny.

Have you seen the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven? It's far better than the theatrical version.

It spends a lot more time exploring various aspects of the story and generally has a lot more exposition. Feels more like a complete film than the theatrical cut, which you don't quite realise until you see the director's cut, was completely hacked up.

It does have an amazing cast.Ok, so it does have Orlando Bloom in there as well but dont hold that against the rest of them.

Gangster Squad for sure which has brilliant actors/actresses such as Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling.

Love Actually springs to mind - quite an impressive cast, bit of "who's who" of British film, but definitely a bit 'meh'.

I agree.Film was very average and Jeff Bridges ( who i normally like ) was very hard to understand with his slurred speech.I get the fact that hes supposed to be a drunk old codger but it was extremely annoying.

The casts for both these two films had high end comedic names and two films with good solid concepts.Yet the finished product from both Movies was average at best and the feeling of expecting more, especially considering the hype both films set out, left nothing but a itching "what could have been" thought.

Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure are terrific films and fantastic examples of their genre. To bunch them in with tripe like Swarm is unforgivable.

Agreed. And the 2010 version of True Grit was excellent too. Much better than the turgid John Wayne original.

Presuming that Bloke from Oz is talking about the 1974 Sidney Lumet version, Murder on the Orient Express is a great shout!

However, whenever this topic comes up, I always go for How The West Was Won.
