The character didn't have the kind of self-awareness for any kind of internal monologue IMO - it was just the glib surface 'look I'm self-aware' that went with poor writing. Perhaps better played I might have bought your version, which I have a feeling might possibly have been the aim. But the performance, the shots? That's not what I saw on screen.

You're just sulking because Anna Kendrick made The Proclaimers sound slightly less shit.

Anna Kendrick could sing Chris Brown (cunt) songs and I'd still fancy her.

She doesn't sing it, just mixes it. She hasn't got a bad voice though.

So it's a good film and Elab is just being a curmudgeonly enemy of film as per usual?

I was surprised at how much I was entertained by it. And not just because of Anna Kendrick in the shower.

She tweeted recently that she masturbated over Gosling in the cinema, so the two of you have that in common.

She's not bad in it (although the mix is awful). Some of the music is OK, the music gangsta gang sing-off excruciating. Bit of a pointless watch really.

Geez, I whip my dick out during a screening of Drive and all of sudden I get a reputation.

I think that's the first time I've heard No Diggity described as "gangsta"

No, I mean the attitude and what it was trying to, I guess?, parody.

Have you seen Juan of the Dead, Gimli? The best zombie films I saw this year were all slightly offbeat foreign ones - Juan and a German one. I'm renting Zombibi off Itunes as we speak.

Not yet. It's near the top of my LF list though. There seem to be about three new zombie films every week. Was the German one Berlin Undead?

Siege of the Dead - a much smaller film and much the better for it. It used to be available to view on Lovefilm but was one of the 1000s of films taken off Instant when Tesco DVD closed. I've still no idea what happened there.

Kill Zombie!/Zombibi - just didn't get it right IMO. I did laugh a couple of times but the whole wasn't great. Juan still rules for last year.

To make it neat, this will close Sunday midnight.

The list should start going up by the end of the month. I have leave towards the end of Feb so I'll have breaks then to put it together properly.

Remember - anyone can submit a list and a top 10 is perfectly fine if that's what you want to go for

Fortunately the only part of HMV that's still working is on demand - it's never been reliable but I finally got About Elly working on a different laptop so can watch it tonight.
