Does Lovefilm On Demand still exist? I've been defending it vs Netflix but it seems that since they took over Tesco and I know have a rental/instant account with them I can't see in NEW titles or titles that I can pay per view.

It does, but their new releases aren't the best. I couldn't say how it compares to netflix or any of the other ones though as it's the home delivery aspect which sealed the deal for me.

My bad, I meant the ones you could pay for, which were far newer. Now it just seems to be the equivalent of the old on-account instant, which are a bit older and there's barely a page of releases from 2012.

Looking at what they have I'd recommend trying Hara-Kiri (and trying the original in you can as well)

I share your low (or conflicted) opinion of Nostalgia for the Light btw.

Ahh of course! Forgot Miike had a film out last year.

Was it low though? It made number 30 out of a list of over a hundred (ahead of some stuff I really liked) - that's pretty good going in my book.

I was intrigued by this and I enjoyed World's Greatest Dad, so I might give this a shot too.

Ah, I didn't think of it being 30 in that context. Mine would have been lower.

Currently my list of films from 2012 looks like this :-

01. Moonrise Kingdom
02. Safety Not Guaranteed
03. The Muppets
04. Take This Waltz
05. Avengers Assemble
06. The Cabin in the Woods
07. Brave
08. The Raid: Redemption
09. The Dark Knight Rises
10. Skyfall
11. Hunger Games
12. The Pirates! In an Adventure With Scientists
13. Lawless
14. 21 Jump Street
15. The Amazing Spider-Man
16. Madagascar 3
17. Lockout
18. Dragon Eyes
19. American Reunion
20. Ice Age 4: Continental Shift

That's from my list of films watched this year. Apart from the top 4 I don't particularly agree with the placings at all but I'll keep them as they are for the sake of consistency. I imagine a number of those towards the bottom will disappear as I catch up with this year's films over Xmas.

01. Moonrise Kingdom
02. Safety Not Guaranteed
03. The Muppets
04. Take This Waltz
05. Avengers Assemble
06. Frankenweenie
07. The Cabin in the Woods
08. Brave
09. The Raid: Redemption
10. Dredd
11. The Dark Knight Rises
12. Skyfall
13. Hunger Games

Elab, is there a specific number you're ideally looking for? Obviously there's a lot of lists in the tens, twenties, thirties & so forth.

For other lists we sometimes have different numbers and even in this one they can vary.

I'm thinking, myself, I'll do list of 25 and I'm happy to have that as a maximum. But if people prefer lists of 10 or 20, then those will be very much welcomed and are absolutely fine too.

I'd like to set a closing date of 31st January this year. A little later than usual but I'm kind of cheating as About Elly will be on DVD just in time to see it before the deadline!

We asked a couple of years ago but there weren't many replies - I still should have collated them though. I think Christopher Waltz was top.

Cool, I'll go for 25 then. Even The Rain is en route to me from lovefilm now and hopefully I can squeeze Grabbers in before the 31st.

Expand?

The meltdown may yet be forthcoming, but the peculiar comparison with Jennifer needs to be clarified.

Admittedly though, I really am not bothered. If I were, you probably would have perished already with your Nolan/Batman bashing.
