Also rawlinson good thing you've got the Enemy of Film on your side now eh, good to see that Proclaimers lovers can still find each other on this earth, though they are few and far between and though 500 Miles and I'm On My Way are played so relentlessly at Scottish pubs the world over, creating new haters with every generation

Well, she's right about it being a stupid joke and not representative of the quality of the film. But I think my Krankies reference should tell everyone what I think of The Proclaimers.

No, I disagreed on the quality of the joke too. But if someone didn't find it funny, that was fair enough. Humour's humour

No, I mean the quality of PA's friends joke.

I haven't. Is it as... just kinda there really as the first one?

Missed The Decoy Bride edit. Kelly McDonald and David Tennant, I just crushed through the film.

Please tell me more about the objective quality of the film that the joke is not 'representative' of Mr Rawlinson

See, if you'd said I'm On My Way, that has a Geoffrey Palmer connection, so I could have been more accepting of it.

Well it's nowhere near as twee or annoying as that song for a start. But you could always watch it yourself and find out instead of being a lazy received opinion having bitch.

I’ve seen both (the nephew didn’t want to see Seven Psychopaths) and both are awful, though Kelly McDonald is lovely.

Well he did love Pirates! so I'm giving him a bye for this indiscretion, plus my Christmas present of bubble wrap went down well (he has Christmas several times due to family circumstances) and he sat through Sons of the Desert a while back.

Sons of the Desert does move him up a considerable few notches.

I've got a habit of keeping those 100m rolls of bubble wrap, hangover from getting rid of tons of stuff on Ebay. I have to move it whenever my mum comes over - she's worse popping it than the kids are.

The nephew 'sat through it' - impqueen didn't say the nephew liked it. Which the nephew shouldn't, because the film's terrible.

He enjoyed it very much and we've watched a few more L&H since.

So far from the films I've searched out from other people's lists, Elab (Grabbers), jiraffejustin (Excision) PA (Sound of My Voice/Alois Nebel), and Rawlinson (From the Sea to the Land Beyond) have had successful (to varying degrees) watches, so cheers. I've 11 more to get through that I want to see before I compile my final list. Dredd was good but not brilliant but amazing compared to the shitfest of the previous incarnation; I particularly liked the use of colour. I found myself pleasantly surprised by Safety Not Guaranteed (I've rarely been so desperate for a certain outcome and Aubrey is lovely) and Wild Bill, predictable it may be but it has a pair of excellent performances from Charlie Creed-Miles and Will Poulter.

I was less enamoured with Rise of the Guardians but it did the job. As for Beasts of the Southern Wild...it looks great, Quvenzhané Wallis is certainly a strong screen presence but eh' I wasn't all that bothered by the end and couldn't help my cynicism seeping in and found it a twee experience at times.

I'd be up for Snowman and Snowdog being eligible for this as shorts are a bit different.

I'm slightly worried at the moment - I heard the song on the radio and it completely didn't fit the original which makes we worry what they've done to the sequel if it fits that. Wasn't a very good song.

I liked it. My problem is by the end of the year I'll have around 100 eligible films, 35-45 of which I can see vying for places and there's not much between them.

The song is awful, and the short really suffers from the lack of Walking in the Air, but I liked the film itself. But part of me thinks I invest more in emotional things about dogs.

No TV movies in this one - so the HBO specials eg are not eligible.
