Erm...

Shouldn't be a minute. I'm putting off doing work so I'll happily do this.

Just a note - the films are being totted up just now but the list won't be going up till the end of the month. It won't be a massive pain if anyone would still like to add a list or make a late adjustment.

Is this still the case?

I wouldn't mind making an adjustment or 2 to my list but it's no biggie if I can't.

Adding new lists is easier than adjusting existing ones. but since I've opened it for Rinc (and I'm double-checking the films chosen for others) it'd be unfair not to say yes

Cool. Is the cut off point still the end of the month?

I've just sent some stuff back to Lovefilm so I'm hoping I'll get lucky and they'll send me Holy Motors by Wednesday.

I'm going to be starting to put the list up at the end of this week (formal cut-off was last month but I've just left this bit open until I had time to start posting the list ).

If you could get the change in by Friday? I could leave the start till Saturday.

I don't know it, but unless anyone knows different it seems to say UK for 2012? So, yes.

Thinking about it, I'd probably be the only voter though. Doesn't seem worth the hassle it'd cause.

Great film though.

I did get lucky and they're sending me both Looper and Holy Motors so can you confirm whether I'm able to edit my list till Thursday or not please?

Also what is the limit for the list size? I've got mine currently at 25 but I notice some posters have lists of 30+.

I did above - I think you've missed a post

I'm not taking lists past 25 - I think some people have listed all the films they've seen from 2012 as well!

So - another increase in the total number of films voted for, but only a slight one over last year. This year 143 individual films received votes, 57 of which were individual votes.

Uploading pictures now, hope to start the countdown tomorrow.

Juan of the Dead (Brugues, 2011)

In a genre of increasingly diminishing returns, this was the most fun I had watching a zombie film last year. Set in Cuba, it enthusiastically shoehorns in politics in the way it references the undead and plays with some comic book conventions along the way.

Wild Bill (Fletcher, 2012)

Feature debut for Dexter Flectcher which is, in an odd way, kind of a gender swap version of his former Press Gang co-star's other big hit. Except not a comedy. And no Patsy. But otherwise-ish.

Samsara (Fricke, 2011)

Visual documentary, kind of a follow-up to Baraka.

Indie Game The Movie (Swirsky, 2012)

Documentary about game developers funds via Kickstarter.

In Darkness (Halland, 2011)

Wouldn't it have been great to have a second US TV director in 3 years win the Best Foreign Film Oscar? Esp, unlike Campanella, as Holland does great US TV like The Wire.

Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (Heidecker/Wareheim, 2012)

TV spin-off.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (Scafaria, 2012)

The natural pairing of a 50yo man and a woman in her 20s. Well, natural for Hollywood of course.

A Letter to Momo (Okiura, 2011)

Delightful Japanese Ghibli-esque animation with three 'demons' both helping and messing up the life of the young girl, with the ugliest of them turning out to be unexpectedly sweet.

Searching for Sugarman (Benjelloul, 2012)

A musician missing for decades or a story slightly fictionalised to make it a bit 'better'?

How I Spent My Summer Vacation (Grunberg, 2012)

Bit of a departure for Gibson as he tries to claw his way back to a career.

Didn't know How I Spent My Summer Vacation was about two bikini babes. I thought it was about an abusive anti-Semitic in Mexico.

I'm guessing they're trying to avoid the elephant in the room on the poster by pretending Gibson isn't in it? Maybe?

Searching for Sugar Man was aces.

Tim & Eric's comedy works better in ten minute shows. When it's stretched to about ninety minutes it begins to falter.

Blackthorn (Gil, 2011)

Best of this bunch, the continuing adventures of Butch Cassidy.

Cosmopolis (Cronenberg, 2012)

Dr Who spin-off showing how Gridlock eventually came about.

Men in Black III (Sonnenfeld, 2012)

Worth seeing solely for a lovely turn by Michael Stuhlbarg as the sweet time-disconnected Griffin.

Resident Evil: Retribution (Anderson, 2012)

It continues as madly as ever.

The Girl (Jarrold, 2012)

One of the two Hitchcock films last year.

Two Little Boys (Sarkies, 2012)

With a title signifying NZ just won't let Rolf Harris go, it's the latest film from the director of Out of the Blue so fingers crossed it'll arrive over here sometime.

Zombibi (Van Den Eshof, 2012)

Fitfully amusing Dutch zombie comedy that would be a brilliant short if it focussed on the news reader.

I agree with the blurb about MiB3. The only other film I've seen so far is Seeking A Friend... which is alright.
