Just been watching rare exploits. I've come to the conclusion that there a
3 types of Christmas film.

1: traditional Christmas film. Any film with classic christmas themes.

It's a wonderful life
Christmas carol / Scrooge,
Miricle on 34th street
Polar express
Nightmare before Christmas.

2: dark/ anti-Christmas films. Films with a dark or subverted Christmas theme.

Bad Santa
Black Christmas
Rare exploits
Christmas evil
Silent night, deadly night

3: pseudo-Christmas films, any film set a Christmas but with little or nothing to do with the holiday.

Die hard
Germlins
Home alone
While you were sleeping
Batman returns
Ghostbusters 2

There is also a fourth category....

4: Christmas tv nostalgia, any film that is routinely shown on tv over the holidays.

The great escape
Goldfinger
Wizard of oz
Mary poppins
Casablanca
