Just remembered that i actually saw Bourne Legacy so i will nominate that as the absolute worst film of the year over Wrath Of The Titans.

Best - The Impostor. Just an incredible story.

Worst - Ted. Not awful, I tend to dodge the real bilge of the year, but barely raised a laugh.

Disappointing - another vote for Prometheus here.

Surprising - 21 Jump Street gets an honourable mention for being much funnier than expected, but Silver Linings Playbook gets this - it's really, really excellent, much better than the trailers and marketing suggested, and contains the biggest acting surprise of the year with Bradley Cooper.

Best: The Dark Knight Rises
Worst: Fury (there's a reason it was straight-to-DVD... can't help but feel that releasing a Samuel L. Jackson movie at around the same time as The Avengers, and renaming it Fury from the original The Samaritan was a deliberate attempt to confuse people).
Most Disappointing: I actually was not disappointed by a movie I saw at the cinema this year... granted, I only saw a few. So my 'most disappointing' thing about 2012 is that Cloud Atlas isn't released over here until March.
Most surprising: The Amazing Spider-Man (I didn't think it could be worse than Spider-Man 3... didn't expect it to be as good as it was, though. Garfield and Stone nailed it! Even though it did go through too many of the same plot points as the original, I actually like it a bit more than that one. Spider-Man 2 is still my favourite, though).

Yep,I would agree with that.
Better than Raimi's first Spidey venture for me,but Raimi deserves massive respect for putting Spidey in motion on the big screen.

Best movie: TDKR, there's a lot of criticism but I still think it's one of the best movies of this year.. Bane is one of my favourite villains.

Worst movie: Dark Shadows. I wasn't expecting a great film after reading the reviews but I didn't expect it too be that stupid.

Biggest surprise: Chronicle. Loved it, original story and great effects eventough it's a low budget..

Best: Master (every bit as good as TWBB)
Worst: Rec: genesis (What were they thinking!)
Dissappointing: Prometheus- I liked it, but I wanted something with more clarity and drive.
Surprising: Avengers Assemble - I didn't expect those characters to be handled with such a light touch.

The Dictator, Skyfall, TDKR, Battleship all crap.

21 Jump street was pretty good in parts.

Best: The Comedy (or Miami Connection if we're allowed re-releases)
Worst: That's My Boy (deeply offensive on every possible level)
Most Disappointing: Cabin In The Woods (didn't see it til a fair few months after release but everyone I know whose judgment I trust told me I'd love it. Couldn't stand it.)
Biggest Surprise: Cabin In The Woods (for the above reason)

Best - TBA (still have stuff to watch)

Worst - Wrath of the Titans (horrible!)

Most disappointing - Prometheus (as a huge Alien(s) fan, this is an obvious choice)

Greatest surprise - Cabin in the Woods (I expected it to be really bad, but it actually wasn't)

Best - The Dark Knight Rises
Worst - The Master
Biggest Disappointment - Moonlight Kingdom
Best Surprise - The Sapphires

Limiting myself to one film per category. There's a lot of films I could have listed.

Best - Skyfall (+ The Hobbit, a fanboy opinion)
Worst - The Amazing Spider-Man, a 2+ hour seizure
Disappointment - The Dark Knight Rises, how a director as
talented as Nolan can make something so sloppy is beyond me
Not a bad film but not a great one either

A very blockbustery list, i've seen far to little of the dramatic and indie kind of 2012

Avengers was genuinely the worst film you saw all year?

Avengers was easily the strongest blockbuster out of Prometheus and TDKR,though I don't think that is saying much to be honest.

Thought it was a total muddle, everything seemed shoe horned onto the screen. I honestly didn't think it was possible for a film of this magnitude to be so boring. I know I'm sounding like a troll, and this could have been in my 'most dissapointing' section, but honestly, all of the factors added up, make it my worst movie of the year. I understand it was a lot of people's favourite and I respect that, but it aint for me.
