I'm going to go year by year, looking at the lists of what was actually eligible for nomination, and listing my picks for best picture, director, the four acting categories and the two writing. It's a pointless distraction activity, but what the hell.

2010 is the only year I've seen all the Best Picture noms, and I reckon it was a pretty decent year in terms of the quality of the picks. My 10 would probably be (going by IMDB's 2010 list)

Black Swan
The Fighter
I Saw the Devil
Inception
127 Hours
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
Shutter Island
Toy Story 3
Troll Hunter
True Grit

With Shutter Island winning it.

I assume they're I Saw the Devil and Troll Hunter.

In which case, replace them with Kick-Ass and The Town.

And for 2009:
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Coraline
District 9
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Moon
The Road
The Secret of Kells
Up
Watchmen
Where the Wild Things Are

Super's still on my to-watch list. And I've not seen Kick-Ass since its release, so I might be blinded by hindsight a bit.

Didn't you diss Spiderwick Chronicles the last time we did these years? It's just the making it up to 10 thing. So it's that list slightly adjusted but with added Get Smart
