Hes obviously a fan (Kill Bill 1 opening) and offered his services to Bond so maybe he'll do the same for Trek? I think hed make it closer to the early original series in tone (eerie Twilight Zone style horror) than the non stop action of the JJ movies. more a big budget version of the original series than the JJ movie which was more like a bigger budget faster version of the star trek movies with added lensflare and Bay style action. and hed obviously have to keep it PG13/12A (which would be a first)

 Id like him to see him hire an editor and for someone to tell him to stay behind the camera because he cannot act.

Besides that id like to see him do a marvel superhero movie.i think hed make a good stab at a Luke Cage adaptation.

Yes i knew all that.I was being sarcastic because QT, like Peter Jackson, has lost the ability to edit his films properly and the result is often self indulgent and LONG films.No disrespect intended to the late Sally Menke but it appears noone is able to convince QT that its ok to lose some stuff in the final cut.As for oscars and Inglorious Basterds, i dont really care how many awards it got for editing ( since everything is subjective and the oscars, like all film award ceremonies are a joke anyway ), it was an unecessarily long film.

Not quite sure what the problem with LONG (capitalised) films is either. Django Unchained isn't even *that* long, least not for an epic western. It's ten minutes shorter than Once Upon A Time In The West for example, while The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is even longer.

I beleive Empires Django review mentioned this but i dont think theres anything inherently wrong with long films if they are justifed.I think the point im trying to make is that films like Inglorious Basterds, and Django dont justify their length and would be better films if QT had not made them as long as he did.

Look at Reservoir Dogs.Made with very limited resources but its an excellent film ant not very long at just over 95 mins or so.

Django isn't Reservoir Dogs tho, and vice versa. Django works very well as a 160 minute long film, whereas Reservoir Dogs is perfect at 95. They're different films. Django is suited to it's length; it's in the tradition of the epic western, which were long films.

I'd love to see QT get away from making big funny movies about horrible real-life events like Nazi's and slavery and do a big splashy version of those Italian Mad Max rip-offs that clogged up our video stores in the early 80's, the ones I used to spend all my pocket money on. Films like 'Bronx Warriors', 'Stryker' and 'Exterminators Of The Year 3000'.

I might be alone on this one.

I'd like to see him keep a straight face a bit more. He did this in his early stuff, but now it's like he doesn't mind being silly. It's a bit like comparing a Roger Moore film to a Sean Connery one. The 'coda' of Django Unchained for instance, the last bit of Inglorious B... He starts off very serious and credible, great writing, then pisses it all away.

It could be that his new stuff needs a different way of reading a movie, but it seems too self-spoofing. Same with Grindhouse in a way, but I could forgive that, it was meant to be silly.

That would be the first Star Trek film I would never watch.

That would be the first Star Trek film I would never watch.

 I agree with that, actually. There is no universe in which Tarantino is suitable to direct a sci-fi movie, let alone Star Trek. As much as I love his stuff.
