We've already got all the sets built in South West England, that'll shave a bit off the budget!

One of the most under-rated movies ever. But it's great because the money and vision is up there on the screen and you can almost taste the saltwater. CGI would do fuck all for it.

I don't know what all the fuss was about - I thought it was a decent film. It's use of old school stunts over CGI is to be commended in my books - especially trying to do it all out at sea. Plus, If the cost had never been made public, it would never have had as much sh*t thrown at it as it did.

SyFy get a big audience because they often show the longer version, where the woman and girl climbing the mountain discover the plaque for Sir Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tensing as they are waving the Mariner off. Can't get it on Blu Ray so nerds know where to get their fix.

yeah, i liked it too. Costner was good too. It took way too much flak in my opinion.
A CGI version would just be yet another shit remake of an older movie.
But it'll probably happen- cuz they never learn do they
