There are rumblings on other forums (yes, they exist) that people have been ordering them in large quantities and that Amazon have been going through said orders and ensuring it is one per order (or customer... I forget which). This is supposedly then meaning that stock is becoming available then unavailable again when re-ordered.

HMV will definitely be getting Skyfall. DVD will be £12.99 Blu Ray £14.99

Not sure about the other titles yet.

 Just got confirmation from Amazon that my order will be delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately, I won't be home this weekend to enjoy that I have it two days early.

It did, thanks for asking. We're starting to get stock back in this week which is great, no more unusual displays of whatever the hell we have left in stock

Amazon have been a bit crap of late with their pre-orders. Used to get items on the saturday before release, now it seems you have to pay a bit more to have it delivered on the Monday. According to my order, Skyfall will be dispatched on Monday.

AMazon aim to have pre-orders there by the release date, so I was expecting the despatch notification today and got it. I've never had an Amazon pre-order in advance of the release date. HMV used to but then changed their shipping method and I was lucky to get it the same week (another reason they went south, maybe?)

Play have always seemed as slow as HMV became but I expected it, but a tweet to Play implied their pre-orders for Skyfall arrived yesterday/today.

My HMV preorders always turned up the Saturday before release which I will certainly miss if they go under for good...

Lucky - mine stopped doing that probably about a year before. Despatch notice came about the same time - but they seem to have changed to one of those cheaper shit postal services that piss about before handing it over to Royal Mail to actually deliver.

I've not had my dispatch notification but it is still giving an arrival date of tomorrow.

If it hasn't been sent I might ask them to refund the 1st class postage.

They won't - 1st class isn't a Royal Mail guarantee, it's a target. Very careful wording - hence their insistence that if you want guarantees you pay more, sadly.

But they do target release day arrival with first class. If they are not dispatching until release day then they are not going to hit the target.

That sucks, if you paid the postage to get it on day of release then they should bloody honour that. When I pre-ordered it I ticked the box for free postage so I would have got it around Friday anyway (before I cancelled).

I didn't pay the extra. This seems to be a recent introduction of theirs (in the last couple of months at least). I don't think I would ever pay for a film to arrive on a Monday as I'll usually have to wait until the following weekend to watch it anyway

 Only watched the movie so far. There was something I started to watch called "Theme Tune Promo Spot", which I thought would be a 'Skyfall' music video. But I stopped it as soon as I realised it was just going to be 40 seconds of people talking about the Bond theme. Seems a pretty pointless thing to put on the Bluray.

 Sainsbury's stand-alone price for the triple play Blu-Ray is a bit shocking (£18.99) BUT if you spend over £30 on other shopping (and I would have done anyway ) it's only £12. Plus as I pre-ordered I also got the £1 worth of points.

BTW HMV Oxford Circus seemed to have copies everywhere all over the store (£14.99) including a seemingly 100s of them all lined up by the tills on the top floor.
