I have quality BDs in my collection and have got a chance to get some discs cheap.

'red'
'sucker punch' extended triple play
'machette'
'hanna'

which of them make the grade?

As BDs, no idea. As films, Red is the only decent one.

Have not seen Hanna and was not that keen on Machette or Sucker Punch. However I was not that Keen on Red but out of the three Red is the best of the bunch.

Sucker Punch is a decent enough film if you understand it. Even if you don't it's nice eye candy.

Sucker Punch looks and sounds fantastic, crap film though. Red is fun, Hannah is very good, neither are demo discs though. Machete was disappointing.

Hanna is excellent with top notch A/V. There's one moment where the bass is so deep I thought my stomach was falling out.

Hanna was surprisingly good I thought, Red was okay fun nonsense, Sucker Punch was dreadful and Machete was ridiculous and pretty shit to be honest.

The way it was filmed made it a little washed out for me to use as a demo disc. Not a fault of the BD encode but the visual choice
of the director and photographer. The sound was excellent but it jarred on me a little the way the action scenes were so incredibly loud and bassy compared to the rest of the film.

I don't think it is a crap film, this review on Amazon explains what the film is about.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2PKB9KMK9RI51/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B004Q9SYW2&channel=detail-glance&nodeID=283926&store=dvd

Red was just OK for me, and I didn't rate Hanna, seen it all before.

is DTS-HD considered the best for home cinema?

any existing titles re released as boxsets, such as 'star wars', bond 50 and 'superman', always get a DTS upgrade.
