Well, if you look at Stop the Cavalry, they only mention Christmas once and that's always on the Christmas Charts. I think it does depend on the song though, but I'm inclined to say wintery is fine. The only one I'm currently stuck on is Save My Love by Bruce Springsteen. Lyrically is in no way, at all, in any shape or form, Christmassy. Yet I first heard it at Christmas, and the music, the same way as Stop the Cavalry, has something Christmassy/Wintery about it. So I'd allow it, because I think the best Christmas music should be about the feel of the season (or something equally schmaltzy) and to me, I hear it, and, to quote the Ghost of Christmas Present, "it feels like Christmas".
