Well, I'm going to go drink a bottle of bleach. I'll see you guys on the other side.

On the plus side - that death threat someone else made against me won't be carried out now.

Stop quoting Vad3r it gives me a headache.

I'm hoping there are stormtroopers in it. The same stormtroopers from the original trilogy.

Depends whether they use any of the material which depicts the Imperial Remnants. Stormtroopers are in a lot of the post ROTJ stories, comics, games and all that. Unclear if any of it will be considered for use in what could be a replacement canon. The Empire wouldn't just vanish or surrender completely after all.

That's what I'm thinking. There must be thousands of stormtroopers scattered around the galaxy.

So, we have our director. Wonder what this means for Star Trek3?

You just know Star Trek Into Darkness will have a bastard of a cliffhanger or something like that and we'll NOW have to wait more than a few years for the 3rd.

JJ does seem a logical choice to continue Star Wars

I would reckon that Trek would continue without Abrams if he does do Star Wars. 2016 is Trek's 50th anniversary and I'll put my house on Paramount wanting a film to tie in with that. Abrams won't have time to do that if he's doing EP 7.

So I WAS right about JJ Abrams. I'll prove the doubters wrong once again when Vade(/3)r will be on the poster of everything in 2015.

Yep,because Stormtroopers are really macho and tough....that's why they were defeated by muppets.
And,to be honest, no one should really have been shocked that the prequels sucked when the third (original) ended on such a embarrassing whimper.

I'll take 3 minutes if Ewoks over 3 movies worth of total crap. I can easily forgive that they won with the help of the Rebel forces since the best scenes in the film happen elsewhere during the finale.

Slagging off Ewoks is hardly the most original or insightful of criticisms. Never had a problem with them personally, they're there for the kids. And the epic brilliance of the rebels' space battle and the drama on the Death Star provide just the right contrast against any perceived silliness on Endor.

For supposedly cute, cuddly child's toy, the Ewoks sure are vicious little bastards.

And that's why they rock.

Well until they changed the goddamn ending music.

Wouldn't matter. I'm sure he would've been ressurected along with all the other deceased characters that vad3r insists are coming back in Episode VII.

True.
The Han Solo-death conundrum is interesting.Like even then George Lucas was taking priority over toys rather than what was going to go out on screen.
Personally I'm glad Han Solo wasn't killed off,but I do find interest if he had.

I don't know about that - people still buy Boba Fett figures, and he died in that film. Han surviving is the right call though - it would have been just too much of a downer to end the trilogy on.

Han dying is a silly way of adding "grit" or something to the story. All it would have done is cheapen his rescue at the start, so they made the right choice there.

Han can never die! The guys the beating heart of the original trilogy. Besides, nobody wants to see poor old Chewie flying the Falcon, Solo!

Well, no - Luke is. It's because of the Skywalker twins that Han gets a heart.

Han is the coolest character in the movies, though naturally everyone loves Darth Vader too.

I think JJ Abrams will do a great job. He's done well with MI:3, Super 8, and Star Trek. He has been quite clever in what he has done, in that he's added new stuff but kept enough old stuff to keep fanboys happy.

He doesn't do daft things like Fincher did in Alien 3 and kill off Newt & Hicks at the start, making Aliens seem pointless.

Personally I think Abrams' involvement in Episode 7 pretty much blows Vad3r's "Darth Vader will return!" bullshit out of the water.

Abrams is a smart guy and a director who likes to keep his audience on their toes. Bringing back Vader would smack of laziness, and I don't think Abrams is a lazy guy.

MC, I don't think anyone sane thought Darth Vader would be returning to the series!
