His best performance is in 17 Again. I think it's between him, Paul Dano or Michael Cera for the role.

You don't even know that Luke's going to be in it or not! It's like you're trying to impress people with some fantastical insider knowledge or unique insight, of which you have neither. It's so desperately sad.

Gah, I really don't know why I'm letting myself get wound-up by this braying fruit-cake. There must be something else more worthwhile that needs doing......

Personally, I'm excited to see who's going to be cast and will leave judgement until I've seen their performances. No one thought Heath Ledger could top Jack's Joker.

So sorry, but I did actually. I may be one of the only people who thinks Jack's Joker is an overripe ham.

So when the BTTF remake is announced, anyone predicting who'll be cast as Marty McFly is 'desperately sad' because:

a) No one knows if Marty's going to be in it
b) They're ''trying to impress people with some fantastical insider knowledge or unique insight''

Sound logic and civility, as always.

You're questioning my logic? Really? I'll ask again....how do you know that SW is being remade? How do you know Luke Skywalker is going to be in it? You don't. That is my point.

As for my civility, well....you can crap in your hat and wear it backwards for all I care, my friend.

I'm not a fan of Jack's Joker, but did you really think Heath Ledger of all people was going to make a good Joker?

Thinking outside the box, I honestly think they'd be a great choice for Luke. Obviously Cera has to town down the George Michael, but I think he's capable of more range than people give him credit for.

People thought the same of Hugh ''musical theatre extraordinaire'' Jackman. Look what happened there.

Instead of going into full-on berserker mode, he just goes to room to mope and listen to his Animal Collective albums on vinyl.

I know fanboys were up in arms about it, but I didn't see anything wrong with his casting. He was a proven actor who had already demonstrated significant range, there was no real reason to assume he would be terrible.

To be fair, that would still be better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Thankfully, the role of Wolverine still belongs to Hugh Jackman for the time being

Personally I'd like to see Rupert grint give it a go. Or perhaps Peter Dinklage.

For me, Grint is the only possible choice for Luke Skywalker

You people seem to be forgetting the most important thing. Now that Old Man George is out of the way:

ORIGINAL TRILOGY ON BLU-RAY.

Make it so.

Has anyone wonder why George Lucas sold Star Wars in the first place? Star Wars is no longer the phoneom it used to be and the reason is because he bled it dry. Not because Star Wars ran it course but because he milked the original trilogy by any means possible. Compare the Star Wars brand a few decades ago to current state and the brand quality has taken a huge nose dive. Now compare Star Wars franchies to the more recent franchies. You wouldn't see J K Rowling selling Harry Potter to a studio just to cash in on new stories she play no part in. George Lucas sold Star Wars because he doesn't give a damn about it which is obivious the way he been treating it in the recent decades. It just got worst and worst.

Strongly disagree.

Star Trek always had a cult following, look what happened with JJ's Star Trek. Star Wars will always be ingrained in pop culture and is much bigger and more mainstream now than the time of the OT.
A new, live-action big budget Star Wars movie in this day and age will be huge.

Let Indy rest please.

Do we reckon Old George will build a Scrooge McDuck style Money vault/pool out on Skywalker Ranch?

What else is there to do with $4bn?

Ya know rebooting SW mightn't be hideous.
The orignal three were a huge part of my childhood and will alway hold a special place for me.
But, the prequels made me face up to the fact that there are a lot of flaws with the orignals. (still want a blue ray version though).

Just think of all the talented directorsd and writers who would be lining up to have a crack at thier version of Starwars.
Luke Skywalker played by a proper actor, ROTJ without ewoks, luke not hitting on his sister, Bobba Fett getting a better death.

A reboot worked just fine for Star Trek, done right it could for Star Wars too.

Not sure how I feel about this news really - not that bothered I guess. Can't say the idea of a 're-boot/remake' is particularly welcome, but from the brief snippets that are out there it looks as though Disney would be looking to make follow on films, rather than remake what's gone before.

One thing I doubt we'll see anytime soon though is the OT-non-special editions on Blu-Ray
Firstly there'd need to be a huge expenditure involved to release anything half decent - let's face it the Laserdisc versions added to the DVD release were pretty ropey. As I understand it, when the Spec Eds were produced they had to completely restore the negative and then the extra stuff was spliced in. To release a HD version where Han shoots first, there's no Jabba etc, wouldn't Disney have to get hold of an unaltered negative and carry out the same work? - really can't see them coughing up to do that. They didn't seem too bothered about fan-feelings when they released The Avengers Blu-ray.

Also, as stated above, Fox owns the rights to ANH which could make things difficult for Disney. Probably be cheaper just to remake the OT with Zac Efron as Luke.........oh

The fact that it's being called Episode VII does kinda rule out a remake/reboot. More a continuation of the saga, which is fine by me.

But if TPM ever got a remake then vad3r would make the definitive Binks.
