what was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema (not tv)

mine was Never Say Never Again in 1983! (so as a child of the 80s my first Bond was still Connery!) i dont know why i wasnt taken to see the official EON produced Octopussy as well, maybe the title was too risque for a young child

i think id seen a couple of Connery and Moore ones on itv (never bbc) before or around then though (they probably showed a few to coincide with the 'battle of the bonds' that summer - Moonraker was by far the best )

since then ive seen every one at the cinema - apart from License to Kill as it was a 15

Tomorrow Never Dies.

It had to be the one where Rupert Murdoch was the Bond villian, but it was also the one with Michelle Yeoh, SO YAY

The World Is Not Enough. For some reason I remember being really really put off by the hologram of Robert Carlyle's skull, because it was too unbelievable that they'd have hologram technology

Hologram's are my limit I think

You'd think Denise Richards the nuclear physicist would be the breaking point.

I can buy Moonraker, but that's just taking the piss.

The World is Not Enough ... age about 14 I suppose. Was good then, I guess it still holds up now just about.

It's weird thinking back that 007 was always such a TV event, perhaps because as a younger kid it was that limbo period before Goldeneye when The Living Daylights was always being shown.

A View to a Kill and everything since. I remember being the only person in the audience watching Licence to Kill apart from two women who were cinema staff who were right behind me but they left after about 20 minutes to go watch Batman

Mine was Goldeneye - I wasn't into Bond films around the time of The Living Daylights and would have been too young to get into Licence to Kill, but in-between that time I devoured the series (especially Moonraker - it seemed as though that one was on telly all the time, whereas From Russia with Love was a real rarity, it was the last Bond film I had discovered back then). So like what Rich said, Bond didn't feel like it belonged at the cinema, so synonymous it was with video and TV, so to see Goldeneye on the big screen was a big deal. I absolutely loved it and have seen every one since at the cinema!

Never Say Never Again used to get screened by the BBC, but I suppose they blagged that one because it wasn't part of the official canon. Everything else was always ITV, except now of course...

You think that was an opening silence... my first Bond was 'The Spy Who Loved me'and when Roger Moore (or his stunt double, rather) went over that endless cliff, fell for about ten seconds and that Union Jack flag exploded out...the place went mental. Wow, still one of my best movie memories...

Mine was Tomorrow Never Dies for my 11th birthday - I think it came out at the end of '97 and I saw it in the January of '98.

The Spy Who Loved Me - I was about 3 or 4. The things I remembered most were: Bond on the jet-ski (or whatever it was at the time), Bond trapping Jaws on the magnet, and dropping him in the shark pool, and that cool car which turned into the mini-sub. It was only later on, many years after that, that I realised what a really great film it was.

'golden gun'-not the best but a year after itv started showing the movies begining with 'dr no' so that was a better introduction to 007.

The Spy Who Loved Me - as well as the opening sequence, my biggest memories are the sub-aquatic Lotus Esprit which I so wanted as a kid (had to settle for the die-cast model instead), and of course one of the finest Bond songs ever. Speaking of which, if you've never heard Radiohead's cover of Nobody Does It Better, you really owe yourself to check it out

As many know, I am not a Bond fan. And so it was my first (and, to this day, my only) cinematic Bond experience was The World Is Not Enough (sub-titled - ...but a big metal pipe is [AKA Austin Powers remade with all the jokes removed]). Lord how I hated my Bond-loving friends who dragged me along...

Never Say Never Again, and I've seen every one at the cinema since.
I wouldn't even describe myself as a massive Bond fan, it's just the fact it always seemed like the most patriotic thing you could do at the cinema. (I don't know but for some reason in the 80's, it only seemed like it was Bond films that got made over here)

Golden Eye. Bond jumping off a dam, Bond trashing most of Russia with a tank, Izabella Scorupco being all hot and stuff... absolutely loved it at time.
