Hi Forum!

I'm new to the world of design and enrolled at university a few weeks ago.
As a homework assignment, I have to choose a magazine and analyse its layout (grid, fonts etc.). I took the world's biggest movie magazine: Empire!

For the past couple of days I've been reading through tutorials on how to analyse different layouts, however I reached an impasse.
I've already consulted 'Google' and the only results were different analysis of the front covers.

I'm not really clear what the query is? If it's how to do the assignment, wouldn't advice from your tutor be more useful?

My task is to analyze the layout of a magazine. What font do they use? Is there a defined layout grid? In what way are texts and images inserted into the grid?

I finished my analysis on the cover of issue 281 (describing how images and headlines are used), but I got stuck on the text layout part due to lack of experience.
