Hi All,
I remember a film, which was a romance, possibly 1950s. It was about a woman who had a secret lover. The main scenes were played on a hill at the edge of town with a tree on it. She sat under the tree a lot and sometimes met her love there....does this ring any bells for anyone? I just don't know enough to track it down. I think in the last scene she is sitting alone under the tree and he turns up. Any ideas?

The only one I can think of is "Love is a many splendored thing" as it features lovers meeting under a tree. However at the end it's a butterfly rather than her lover that shows up if I remember. It's from 1954 or '55 I think and starred Jennifer Jones. Excellent for a good therapeutic crying session! 😪And has a wonderful score.
