To be honest I always felt like the director's were just for hire and that the producers were calling the shots, and the second unit got the action done. Besides the older ones that had recurring names behind the camera, does it matter?

That is a fair point. Most of the directors don't really bring a 'vision' do they? And as you say the second unit do the action.

Yes. Surely that is a redundant statement?

Some people are far superior are sifting through the chaff to find that all elusive wheat, and I am more than happy to read links by other people!

Is it supposed to be another 4 year gap? Again, if so I find this incredible as in any form of business you strike while the iron is hot.

In 4 years time, Skyfall will be forgotten by the non-Bond fans and Craig may well look like it will be his last one.

I have watched Skyfall 3 times since my cinema outing back in 2012, and to be fair I am enjoying it far more now. I would say it was Craig's best Bond film.

So Mendes is back. Skyfall had its faults but they can not all be laid at Mendes door step. The writing was at times very poor, some the dialogue sounded forced and because of the 50th anniversary there was a lot of pressure to reference previous outings. Hopefully Bond 24 won't suffer from the same issues, and hopefully they can bring back Quantum, I really want to see that story completed.

October 2015 is a long way off. Difficult to get excited, knowing they probably won't start shooting until later next year. By the time this rolls around, Episode VII and Avengers 2 will be likely out on dvd!

I think heís contractually obliged to do 2 more Danny.

While I really, really liked CR as a whole, I didnít really gel with Craig as Bond until Skyfall but they should be looking to replace now I think. They just always let them get too old.

I thought Craig should have bowed out after Skyfall. He was starting to look a bit too old for the role even though he pulled it off superbly but two years from now is a different matter.

Probably because they didn't suffer the same abuse.

I'd really like to see Quantum return, Mr. White as the perennial thorn in Bond's side and perhaps we can see Guy Haines still exerting influence with the P.M.

He's only 3 years older than Brosnan was when he appeared in Goldeneye.

Also the same age as Moore was when he played Bond for the first time.

Hullo and cheers! I've compiled a list of suggestions for Bond 24 and Bond 25 that I'd now like to share with you.

My Bond 24 & 25 suggestions:

Bond 24#

Plot ideas: Bond on a mission. Heís given an assignment, an exotic locale he must travel, and a sinister figure who must be investigated.

Suggestions: Make the location India, and the sinister figure an Indian billionaire (the kind with their own private skyscraper rising out of the slums). The villainís plans involve a scheme to start a war between India and Pakistan using a false flag nuclear terror plot. The villain has a mountain base in the Himalayas where he plans to wait out the shooting war, and Bond ultimately confronts him here for a series of snowbound action scenes including a ski chase and a mountain climbing sequence.

Felix Leiter returns. Leiter references Bondís ďdeathĒ and the events in Skyfall. Perhaps a comment about Quantum to remind audiences theyíre still out there in advance of Bond 25.

Bond 25#

Plot ideas: Quantum Strikes Back.

Suggestions: the concluding chapter in the Quantum trilogy, wrapping up their story before Craig moves on from the series. The pre title sequence could involve Craig going about his daily routine in London (buying luxury goods, or jogging like in the sequence that was cut from Skyfall), when an assassin strikes. Bond survives, but is left with all sorts of questions. It turns out that Quantumís grand plan is now in itís final stages, and Bond was to be eliminated as heís the only person still living to have seen Mr. White.

Bond must end their villainy once and for all, avenging Vesperís death and closing the book on that chapter of his life for good.

Suggestions and scenarios for either Bond 24 OR Bond 25:

Pre-title sequence featuring Bond on an op alongside private contractors. They're clumsy and lacking in professionalism, to Bond's disgust. They nearly blow the mission but Bond's quick thinking and man-of-action attitude saves the day. Bonus Idea: The lead thuggish mercenary eventually turns out to be the villain's henchman.

Bond teams up with an ethnic Station Chief, someone who Bond respects, who dies tragically late in the second act, their death to be avenged by 007. Craig needs his own Kerim Bey or Tiger Tanaka figure.

Bond gets his Galla Brand. A married or engaged woman who he feels strongly for, but ultimately doesnít get to fuck, because thatís just the kind of life he leads Ė heís never going to have the chance to settle down.

Bond in a nightclub. Sweaty, gyrating bodies, rhythmically pulsing lights. Bond using the crowd for cover. Suggestion: Chic, underground nightclub for the young, rich and affluent located in Tehran. Similar idea to the opening of Syriana with George Clooney.

Bond smokes. Reasoning: Craig smokes ďwhen he feels like itĒ, and so should Bond. How to make this fit the new Bond and a PG13 universe: Bond is undercover and we see him smoking briefly. This way the producers have plausible deniability. Is Bond smoking because Bond smokes? Or because he was in disguise and trying to blend in?

Bond undercover for an extended period of time, ideally for an entire act of the film. Bond assuming a role to infiltrate the villainís inner circle, while trying to avoid detection, wondering all the while if his cover is blown.

Bond has a fabulous and exotic meal, like his dinner of Fugu with Tiger Tanaka in You Only Live Twice. Ideally this would be a dialog scene with his Head of Station counterpart, which would be used for purposes of exposition.

Bond VS Apex Predator (such as Shark, giant squid, large snake). Preferred option: Bengal Tiger.

Felix Leiter is maimed (either by an Apex Predator, or by saving Bond from an explosion or trap). Reasoning: Leiter can then carry with him the wounds from Bond 24 / Bond 25 after Craig has left the role, for the purposes of enhanced continuity.

Bond makes a good natured allusion to spanking. An infamous preoccupation of Flemingís, they didnít call his books Ďsex, snobbery and sadismí for nothing. Bond should make reference to putting a woman over his knee, or giving her a red bottom. This element has been missing from the series since the Connery era. It is 2012 and in a post 50-Shades world, consensual adult spanking can be referenced without it being something that is jarring, unpleasant or sexist.

Epic Sporting Match / Mind War with the villain, in the grand tradition of the Goldfinger golf game, or the bridge game against Drax in the Moonraker novel. Bond must use his sporting skills and intense athleticism not only to triumph but to overcome the villainís attempts to cheat.

Bond fights a villain or henchman who is famed for his use of poison tipped projectiles or edged weapons. Suggested poisons: Snake (like Scaramanga) , blowfish (like in Jurassic Park The Lost World) or exotic dart frog.

A villain or henchman (perhaps the head of Quantum?) is seen eating fast food. Bond reacts with barely restrained distaste.

Bond is forced into a confrontation with a pathetic, low level crook, and Bond must take lethal action, much to his disgust (like in the opening of the Goldfinger novel when Bond has to kill the Mexican assassin sent to kill him).

A possible title: The Wound Man - a Fleming title that was ultimately discarded.

Suggestions for both Bond 24 AND Bond 25:

Daniel Kleinman designed title sequences.

Ralph Fiennes as M returns.

Naomie Harris returns as Miss Moneypenny. Note: she must either be behind the desk or at most she can meet Bond in the field to deliver key info.

Gun Barrel stays at the end.

Last but not least: I'd like to see Q used to better effect. The film should treat him as someone we should take seriously. Someone we can believe has a top secret security clearance.
