As long as you vote it lower than Saturday Night, that's all that matters.

The King of Comedy - This has moved up considerably in my estimation and now I think of it as one of Scorsese's best. Funny, a bit sad and sometimes really painful to watch. Nice pick, JJ.

Control - A film I didn't love but I did admire. Not the strongest in the round, but I'd be happy to see it get through.

Machuca - The best HoF nom (excepting mine ) since The Penalty.

It was a good film, but let's be honest, it's not the best film nominated in this round, never mind since The Penalty.

Rewatched Tenenbaums - gorgeous looking, gorgeous soundtrack and suprisingly heartbreaking (Ben Stiller's "I've had a rough year, dad" never fails to get to me). Great film - definately one of Anderson's best.

I agree, Galaxy Quest is still better.

Speaking of which...

Yeah, I don't get it. I mean, I 'get' the jokes, but why it's so beloved I don't get.

It would be much better if it just focused on Rickman, Rockwell and Shalhoub.

The best thing about Galaxy Quest is the fact that an accomplished British actor is whoring himself out to an average sci-fi film where he plays an accomplished British actor who is whoring himself out to an average sci-fi series. I like that.

But I prefer Jacobi's take on that kind of character in his Frasier ep.

One down with War Of the Buttons. Paul was kinda right, I didn't hate it outright but it was all a bit ho-hum.

I did like it a lot. But it'd take more than you're offering to make me place it first in my list.

Gregory's Girl - A film that could have easily failed without a wining central performance but thankfully this has one. "Arrivederci (random name)! Hurry back" has seeped into my vocabulary. The penguin and the locker room room dance are brilliant.

Hey guys, just thought I should drop you a message to tell you that due to unforeseen circumstances I have take myself and my nom out of the running.

Right now there are some pretty serious personal issues that need my full attention, and after some consideration I've decided to pull out of this HOF and refrain from posting on the boards in general. I'm so sorry for messing you lovely folks about, but at this present moment I need to get my priorities in check and my family needs me.

I don't know when I will be able to return to the forums, but I just wanted to say that you guys have been really great to me, and talking to you has been really fun.

Love and best wishes.

MC
