This is great to see film makers such as David Fincher using the crowd souce platform to make a project. I did exactly that with my short film and raised $6.8K via kickstarter platform for Fubar Redux - https://vimeo.com/38837847

its alot of hard work and is not just the case of putting it on kickstarter and hoping for the best, you have to push at it to get the fans and new audiences to see your kickstarter page and share it too. Crowd source funding is the definitely the way forward for all filmmakers and its just so encouraging to see top hollywood film makers turning to kickstarter too.

I've been a fan of The Goon since the age of about 15. Alas, I'm skint. Still, really hope this gets made.

Seriously 250,000 talk about an obvious marketing ploy, the mans worth millions how cynical can you get when there's hard working first time directors scrambling around for a few crumbs to just to try & get their dreams made into reality.
