There`s a whole web site for them do you have any funny stories of daft things written to teachers? I remember as a very naive 12 year old who wasn`t great at spelling (still not great at that) I wrote in my history homework that Queen Elizabeth was a strict Catholic which is why she killed so many PROSTITUTES! I meant PROTESTANTS! Very embarassing. Of course exams are very important so you shouldn`t deliberatly write stupid answers but if you have in the past or know someone who has let us know here...maybe not naming names though.

Not to be read at your desk at work as many of those are proper lol material. The pole dancer / B&Q one is great

When I was twelve I had my first history exam and one of the questions was: "What is an anachronism?"

I wrote down: "Someone who assassinates royalty."

During a history exam and in response to the question 'what did Al Capone eventually go to prison for' (or words to that effect) I wrote "Because he didn't pay his poll tax!"

I think John Major was PM at the time and I remember it became something of a well known joke amongst the teachers around the school. I actually thought I'd gotten it right!

One of our RE exam questions was "What was written on Jesus' cross", and my mate wrote "Spurs for the Cup". He got a bollocking off the headmaster for that

Sceptical about a lot of these but people do very strange things in exams. I have seen scripts where someone has done really well (90/100, etc) and then used the last page to write an offensive limerick or draw a pornographic doodle which meant they were automatically given zero.

ESOL answers from young kids are a constant source of delight though.
