A very quick question on this and hope I've put this in the right place!

I'm considering buying The Clone Wars on DVD for my 3 year old, but they are rated PG. For those that have seen it, would you say these DVDs are suitable for a 3 year old or should I wait until he's older?

Partly my reason for asking is A New Hope is U, but would be too intense for him i.e. the alien monsters and arm removal in the Cantina, but the Clone Wars is a cartoon so less "real"....

Any thoughts?

I would say to wait. I've watched four seasons of Clone Wars (and the feature film), and although it's a cartoon, the tone can vary wildly even within individual seasons. As a lifelong SW fan in my early 30s, I love watching it, but it's increasingly straying into quite disturbing territory - probably too scary for a three year old, I'd suggest. My 3yo daughter doesn't like it and finds it scary sometimes, while my 5yo son loves it. What I find surprising is that characters are regularly shown dying, either accidentally, in battle, or just being murdered (especially in cold blood, by bounty hunters). In that sense then, the PG rating is fully justified.

I heard the latest season of Clone Wars was quite adult/scary with Darth Maul appearing.
