Yeah, I recommend you stop listening to Katy Perry and Coldplay.

I could certainly try to pass on some recommendations, but you would probably just shoot them down as per usual.

The Strokes, Nine Inch Nails, The White Stripes, The Libertines, LCD Soundsystem, Beck, The Gaslight Anthem, Queens of the Stone Age, At the Drive-In, Bloc Party, Frank Ocean, Blur, Weezer (first three albums), The Roots, Cut Copy, The Weeknd, PJ Harvey, Yuck, Portishead, Pulp, Alice In Chains, Sonic Youth,

Check out Gram's Top Songs project as well, there's heaps of different bands/artists from heaps of different genres.
