I coudn't give a bugger about covers- its whats in between the covers that interest me.
And a whole issue plugging one film is ridiculous.
Does Ms OHara owe the editor money or something?

Unfortunately the books section does have possibly the worst pun ever. But I enjoyed the content.

Amen. I took one look inside at the contents this month before putting it straight back on the shelf. If there was any doubt this once great magazine for all film fans has turned into a fanboy comic, this issue just confirms it. The whole issue being dedicated to one film is ridiculous. Not all Empire readers are going to care about this film, so why not include more content for those readers?

Call me grumpy all you wish, but a film magazine should at least attempt to cover a diverse range of films and features to cater for all tastes. This issue was nothing short of a Hobbit fanzine - 125 pages of it!

This months Empire is far too thick. Doesn't fit in my bag quite as easily and is more of a struggle to hold up and read...

I have to agree. My interest for The Hobbit is almost none so I was a little disappointed how little else the magazine held than the one film.

Tried to buy issue in Irish newsagent, but woman wouldn't let me, as thought 7.55 was way too expensive and the price was incorrect!

Yeah, impressive cover..... but the rest has to be one of the worst issues ever. Sure you've done big spreads on other films before - Indiana Jones, Star Wars - but for anyone not interested there was still plenty to read, but this issue, apart from the usual news and reviews at the front, and the Blu-ray reviews at the back, along with a few 'Promotion' pieces, is mostly nothing but a complete Hobbit wankfest.

Getting a little peeved with Empire. A couple of months ago you filled the pages with a TV special, then last month it was all about Arnie, now you dedicate pretty much the entire magazine to one film? Are you running out of ideas for content at Empire Towers? How about a feature on movies such as Silver Linings Playbook, which is generating a lot of Oscar hype? Please increase the breadth of coverage in future issues.

Hope you take this feedback on board.

yeah totally agree having virtually the whole magazine dedicated to The Hobbit is a bit much - i'd like a bit more variety in my magazine.

Only received my issue last Wednesday, after my original copy and first replacement failed to show up. Wondering if they were pinched as they seem to be becoming collector's items. The one that did finally arrive was all wrapped up so it's wasn't clear what it was until opened.
