Yea, there a few moments where the CG looks cartoony, but I dont think it's ever in Van Helsing-style shitsmear territory - and lets face it, DK loves Van Helsing and it's ropey CG work, so the fleeting moments of cartoonish CG shouldnt really stop him. Plus, given the nature of the story, you could argue the movie needs to have a few ropey CG moments. Plus, I do recall one or two CG effects looking really good (the floating ghostie woman thing, the merman, some of the explosive blood splatter during the finale looks good too from what I recall) so it's not all doom and gloom.

 Nothing is as bad as Van Helsing.

I still hate Gimli for making me sit through that garbage a second time.

 Apparently the steelbook is currently £14 in HMV (according to posters on bluray.com. I can't check myself as im working nowhere near a HMV today, but i will check tomorrow.

 Just been and picked the steelbook up from HMV at the Trafford Centre for £14. Lovely looking, and actually my first blu ray steelbook!

Picked it up myself today. Am I right in thinking that the disc wrapped on the outside is the replacement disc for the faulty batch (which I assume is the one in the case)

Anyone know if these were replaced in-store? I was in HMV today and they had 3 sealed steelbooks - would they have the replacement disc?

 At the HMV I work for, the morning this was released we received an urgent email telling us to take them off sale. We got them off sale before anyone had bought them and awaited further instructions. Then we were sent replacement discs for every copy we had in store and swapped the discs over. The faulty discs are still in my managers draw as we weren't told what to do with them. I can only assume every HMV did the same and that the ones on the shelf are fine, we've received more stock since the issues so I can only assume everything is alright now.

I got it for my birthday on October 11th and it works perfectly fine. And it was sealed, too.
