I am in fact a teacher, of some repute, but people have oft questioned my spelling. Of late I have though I know not where lost all my ability. But let me explain this as an active task.

Who here knows how to say the following:

cat

incorrect, we see the work and we spell out the letter c - a - t. This is phonetic, it is easy. Look again, if you will, at the word:

one

Clearly I wasn't calling you it, I was jokingly mispronouncing 'cat'. I do not need help with spelling and pronunciation. I'm Scottish, not dyslexic. Which actually doesn't make any sense as there are dyslexic Scottish people out there. And dyslexia is no laughing matter.

What are we talking about again?

I would draw good homer, if he was not about his business. But we pronounce one as 'wun' not 'one'. Why?

See if you say that later when I claim sanctuary at your door! You'd have to be in district 3 or closer to really worry about that though.

One is said as it is because it is not a phonetic word, who can google and tell me how much of the English Langauage is non-phonetic?
