Spielberg recently announced there will be a 4th Jurassic Park movie. Maybe it's too late but I suggest James Cameron contribute to the story, etc. We've had the kids movies (and they were all great, the second I think was the best). Now it's time for a new take.... Take it to darker (nastier) place. Plus Steven and James working together? Very sweet!

Cameron hasn't made a decent movie since 1994. As far as I'm concerned he has entered the trench occupied by many former great artists, and is now on autopilot. He should step down now before he disgraces himself even more.

He makes it sound the movies were for 4 year olds or something Pixar made...I remember watching Jurassic Park as a young lad and being right scared of it. I loved dinosaurs, but that makes you MORE scared of raptors and T-rexes running amok on screen.

What makes a movie 'for adults' anyway? If it's just more gore, swearing and boobs, well what do they actually contribute to the storyline?

not convinced. but it takes a lot for me to be convinced that anyone's better than Spielberg so I'm not the best person to ask for an opinion.
Personally (and this is gonna make a few people fall over in shock) Aliens was just a bit 'meh' for me. Seriously, just don't get what all the fuss is about.
Like I said though, I'm not the best to ask.
That being said - Terminator and T2 were lots of noisy fun and anything with Kate Winslett in a corset and I'm there

Even as a child I It found the movie overbearing. Watching kids in constant scream mode is not my idea of entertainment. Apart from the FX which are obviously spectacular, id give the movie itself , Zero star.

This is one of those premises that makes me shudder at how good it would have been. Not that Spielberg's effort is bad; it's amazing and one of my favourite films. But so is Aliens and Aliens with dinosaurs simply sounds awesome.

he has'nt done a good film since terminator 2 avatar was rubbish if it was'nt for the effects i would'nt have watched it all, jurassic park i would not let him clean up the dino sh*t never mind direct it

James Cameron is great. But let's remember that Steven Spielberg made the movie Jaws. I'm not sure what movie other people saw. And I realize that the marketing machine in Hollywood tried to make this movie a "family movie," but at the end of the day Jurassic Park is a horror film... plain and simple.

It would have been a classic if Cameron did direct it. Instead we got a weak insipid child friendly film, instead of a good soild 15 or 18 cert with all the blood and guts.
I thought Godzilla was better. And I'm serious about Godzilla.

I'd like to see what Cameron would do with the franchise could make for a brilliant movie but just because it would be gorier doesn't mean it'd be better than the originals.

As much as I love James Cameron, I also love Steven Spielberg (well the one who made Jaws, Close Encounters, Raiders and ET) and I love Jurassic Park.

I don't think just because you put in more gore or make a film 'darker' means it becomes better.

Spielberg used to make films for everyone and Cameron makes movies Spielberg should make but they are aimed at teens and adults. But there is nothing wrong with kids movies, look at how many brilliant animated movies there have been.

I would even suggest Spielberg returns to making movies for kids and enjoy himself and entertain us again. That's what he is best at.

I suppose that Cameron at that point in time could have made a gruesom, nasty dino-thriller, but why bring that up now? With his current output in mind it seems more likely that his Jurassic park would be a rainbow coloured eco-dramas with a bob-the-builderesque story-line. I think a really interesting idea for JP4 would be paul greengrass, all hard-impact handheld mayhem or for something completely different, what about convincing Lars Von Trier to make the Americana triology into a Quadrilogy, with lo-fi, chalked up scenery and symbolic papier-mache raptors manipulating and abusing nicole kidman untill she get her moment of vengence? that would be a fresh take.

Yes his take may have been nastier, but we would still be waiting for it to be made as his penchant for making things 'real' as he says would see him recreating dino's from random DNA, shooting the film in 4D smelovision and then leave us hanging for between 8-10 years for any sequels as he would be too busy digging up dino bones found on the moon....

As much as I like both Cameron and Spielberg, Jurrasic Park is very much a classic that Spielberg made his own! Therefore I'm glad he made it and am not remotely interested in what James Cameron would've brought. NEXT!!!
