Who else here (if anyone) has a 3D set up for their blu rays? Since upgrading, i haven't looked back and i absolutely love watching movies in 3D. I have a 46" Samsung 3D TV (which also converts raw 2D to 3D on the fly) and a Toshiba multi region 3D Blu Ray Player. I had been buying 3D blu rays for a little while prior to upgrading and have bought quite a few more since. I have the following:

Adrenaline Rush 3D
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn 3D
Captain America 3D
Cars 2 3D
A Christmas Carol 3D
Conan The Barbarian 3D
Coraline 3D
The Darkest Hour 3D
Drive Angry 3D
Final Destination 5 3D
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D

I never established if you're pro or no 3D Cool Breeze? I dont think there are many fans on these forums unfortunately. I'm firmly of the opinion that there is plenty of room for both 3D and 2D in our modern movie viewing experiences!

Good point, i actually traded in my 2D copy of Tron Legacy this week. Am looking to pick up the 3D release at some point definitely!

The problem is that most of the films you listed are a bit shite and you seem to be buying them for the sake of it. This is your choice, of course, but it does seem like a collosal waste of money and enthusiasm.

Fuck me, I really hope 3D - both in the home and in the cinema - isn't the future.�Because to me that means that 3D will become the only way to watch new films. And that is, quite frankly, rather depressing to me.

2D Blu-ray is already a good enough medium in which to watch films; 3D is nothing but bells and whistles. I mean, what does 3D add that makes it worthwhile? Nothing.

In short: 3D can fuck off and die in a car crash.

99% of all movies are "2D".

And the 1% of movies that are 3D are available in "2D".

So if you don't like 3D I don't really see the point in moaning about it. It's not like you don't have anything to watch that isn't in 3D.

3D for sports viewing in the home could be the future. I didn't watch this year's Wimbledon final in 3D but I did see last years, and it was terrific. It felt like I was looking through a window and I got a much better view of the trajectory of the tennis ball and the depth of the courts etc.

Also, depending on the film, sometimes it just looks nice. What else does it really need to add?

I'm sorry, Mr Back Seat Mod, but that's not how discussion forums work. When you kick open a thread about a divisive subject like 3D, expect people arguing against the format.

Forums are there as an outlet for people to express opinions. Both positive and negative.

In answer to your previous question, colour saturation; that depends on the movie but obviously settings can be adjusted to get the look exactly how you want.

Erm, perfectly calm, thanks. You not going to address any of the points I raised? The question about why you have Step Up in particluar demands immediate attention.

Thing is I love blu-ray and I buy a few a month. If I could afford it I would buy more. But it isn't just the attraction of high-def goodness that compels me to part with my cash. I have to like/love the film properly, otherwise it just seems a little self-defeating. And there are many fine arguments for blu-ray. I have yet to encounter any good ones for 3D blu-ray. But, I know, free country an' all.....

3D gaming? Now that I'm interested in.

But you never know I could still be convinced by this. I was a late convert to blu-ray and even DVD - although much of that was down to expense at the time.

I'm sure you are enjoying them. Doesn't make the expense any less absurd. But I refuse to believe you're enjoying Step-Up in any dimension, let alone 3D. Well, you don't know what movies I buy. If you choose to start a thread that focuses specifically on you showing off a collection then you can't complain if people do critique, especially when you know how divisive 3D is. Yes, it is your choice. But judging by the titles you've bought it just seems to be an indulgence rather than a discerning appreciation of actual film quality. And this does nothing to convince me otherwise that 3D is just a niche fad, an expensive garnish, nothing more and nothing less.

Erm, perfectly calm, thanks. You not going to address any of the points I raised? The question about why you have Step Up in particluar demands immediate attention.

Thing is I love blu-ray and I buy a few a month. If I could afford it I would buy more. But it isn't just the attraction of high-def goodness that compels me to part with my cash. I have to like/love the film properly, otherwise it just seems a little self-defeating. And there are many fine arguments for blu-ray. I have yet to encounter any good ones for 3D blu-ray. But, I know, free country an' all.....

But you never know I could still be convinced by this. I was a late convert to blu-ray and even DVD - although much of that was down to expense at the time.

I was joking! I'm sure you're fine dude. My GF likes Step Up yes, i don't think there's anything wrong with that. Think of it as a guilty pleasure. On a side note, the 3D is absolutely excellent in that, being that it was shot native.
