Lets get the ball rolling - A- Team has already been made, so has Dukes of Hazzard, arguably Incredible Hulk..
What other 80s TV series could there be films made of?
Knight Rider? Fall Guy? etc.
Feel free to discuss other decades such as Mission Impossible.

I see what you mean about the Incredible Hulk but the TV show was from the 70s.

That last one will only work if you get an older unassuming man and not a young or young-ish beefcake and if you keep that theme tune in some capacity.

EDIT: Oh, and 21 Jump Street was based on an 80s show too.

You'll be pleased (?) to hear The Equalizer is being made with the unassuming Denzel Washington in the lead (taking over from Russel Crowe). Due to start filming next April.

im suprised Airwolf hasnt been done yet. Cruise or Ethan Hawke wouldve made for a fine Stringfellow Hawke, with someone like M Bay or T Scott directing.

guess if A Team had hit big the likes of Airwolf, Knight Rider, StreetHawk, Magnum, TJ Hooker etc wouldve been fastracked to the big screen - they were probably all set until A Team underperformed (Miami Vice also didnt do too good)

MacGyver - he was a one man A team who could make a nuclear weapon out of lemon juice, salt and an empty pop bottle. That and TJ Hooker! Only they should defo have Adrian Zmed in the Hooker film, if only because he has the best name of any 80's TV star. Have they done a Dallas film? that too and The Colbys. ooh and Matlock, and Magnum PI and Joanie loves Chachi ...

I guess there's a hollywood exec reading this thread right now looking for ideas so expect everything mentioned here to foul up our cinemas like a year old halibutt in summer 2015.

I think the point I'm making is here that these things have all been pretty shitty and done to death, all that's left to remake/do over were total and utter shit in the first place.

Cartoon wise we've had He-Man, Transformers and Turtles movies.

Naked Gun films we're based on Police Squad from the early 80s.

Personally, I liked the A-Team movie, and I was a huge fan of the show as a kid. Most of the other rmakes have been a steamy pile of horse crap though.

Done right it could actually be a good kids movie. The original show was quite educational, if I recall.

I once saw a film with T bagging in it. The horror still lives with me to this day.

I watched this series on DVD a short while ago. Another tv series best seen through the rose tinted glasses of youth much like Chorlton and the Wheelies.

This actually had a decent overall story for a kids TV show that I think could be made to work over 90-120 minutes! Plus it offers the obvious opportunity for great special effects!

Anyone remember The Centurians? Power EXTREME! Pacific Rim sounds similar.

Dungeons and Dragons. Truly awsome stuff.

Agreed, couldn't be any worse than that Irons/Wayans travesty. Although I hear the DTV sequel isn't too shabby.

Great show, one of my faves when I was younger. It fits TV perfectly, with a new person to jump into (

) each week. A 2hr film though, not sure. A TV movie in the 90s would've been great - don't think it happened though.

its such a shame ATeam wont get a sequel, it was a really good movie. word is it took the box office to warrant it but production costs were so high the profit wasnt enough.

Charles in charge starring Ryan Reynolds
Metal mickey starring the voice of Mike Myers
Golden Girls starring Meryl streep, Michelle phieffer and Kim Bassinger

but on a serious note 'Buck Rogers' would rock- starring Ryan Reynolds and the voice of Mike Myers/ Eddie Murphy as twiki, or whatever the hell he was called.

One of my favourite shows of all time but, no. It is certainly a show of its time and unless it is set in our past, it just wouldn't work because the main guy would have to be in his late 50s or early 60s. It's the same thing as a Back to the Future remake which wouldn't work if Marty couldn't go back to the 50s.

You need to go back to the 50s/60s/70s for Quantum Leap to work, in my opinion. Going back to, say, 1997 just wouldn't be the same.
