The Holy Land for book lovers, Hay-on-Wye is what I imagine it would be like to walk around, if wasn't a soulless warehouse, but actually a rather picturesque town on the Welsh/English border.

Over 30 bookshops in one town, Hay is amazing. I found it by accident not long after I moved down south, having never heard of it before. When my son was a baby a great way to send him to sleep was by going for a drive. So, going for drives in the country for hours at a time I came across this town. After driving through it a few times, I thought it would be nice to stop as it looked really nice. Saw a lovely bookshop and then, right next door, another one. And another. And another. It was like finding the Holy Grail.

So I'm heading there this weekend after not being back there in over three years. Does anyone who has been have a favourite bookshop there?
