I have wanted Christian Bale to play Snake. I think it would be wonderfully meta if David Hayter would write and direct it. He would be the best pair of hands to put it in.

Christian Bale for Solid Snake! He said he played the games before as a child and would love to play as Snake if given!

I've been saying Bale should be Snake ever since Kurt Wimmer was attached to the MGS movie way back when. Failing that I think Timothy Olyphant would be a good Snake. Viggo Mortensen for Ocelot.

Once upon a time I would have said Kurt Russell would be perfect, but he's probably too old now. Christian Bale is maybe a bit too clean cut for this part. For some reason I think Hugh Jackman might be good for it, though I don't know why... Viggo Mortensen is a damn good shout for Ocelot. Jeff Goldblum for Hal Emmerich?

 Whoever directs and writes it NEEDS a fans touch. Also if they plan on doing the sequels they should write them all at the same time so they're integrated, they need to finally make a video game adaptation that works and this is the story to do it with.

Nice! Personally, I'd go for Nancy Meyers directing either Meryl Streep or Diane Keaton as Snake. You f*ckin' KNOW it!

I see a lot of Russell Crowes here, good shout! I like the idea of Kurt Russell or Ryan Gosling (as a younger Snake)! Christopher Nolan would be a good fit for directing, none other directors that I can think of..

I think David Hayter should play snake, he IS the voice and Solid Snake's looks are based on him after all & Kojima should direct as he originally planned on being a movie director before moving onto the game scene (Hence why the MGS games are known as "Cut-scene heavy").

How about the up and coming duo of Refn and Gosling? I think Gosling could pull it off, he's certainly proved himself to have acting chops (not that you'll need great acting chops to play Snake). As far as Refn goes: he does not shy away from violence, he has a distinct visual-style and atmospheric visuals. I always thought a quality MGS film would have to be like Jean-Pierre Melville film; a kind of slow moving film with bursts of violence, while remaining interesting via visual-style. Also, my 2 cents: I always thought of MGS as having a super-natural edge to it, you know, strange bosses and all that jazz.

It'd also be interesting to see Kojima have a crack at directing an MGS film. At the very least co-directing much like Frank Miller on "Sin City".
