I see Danny Strong won for writing Game Change. Good to see Jonathan from Buffy do well since he didn't win for Recount back in 2008.

 Even though I watched Homeland and enjoyed it enough, I don't think any of the acting was worthy of any awards. Some of it was pretty ropey to be honest.

Unless there was an awards for Looking Like a Startled Labrador - Claire Danes

What other categories apart from supporting actor and drama do you believe it should've received nominations in? I think directing definitely, and maybe writing. I'd struggle to put any other actors up for nomination.

I had no problem with Homeland performances getting nods, but best drama or writing were, for me, for more problematic.

Isn't she supposed to play a 'nutter' on the show? There's been a lot of buzz around Danes performance in this.

 She totally deserved the Emmy. Best Actor was more of a shock. As great as Lewis' performance was in Homeland, Cranston's Walter White has now become my favourite performance of any actor in any TV/Film role, so it's a bit of a travesty anytime he doesn't pick up the gold.

Danes is great in Homeland, I totally believed she was coming unhinged as the series progressed.

Mandy Patinkin should have won all the awards though, even ones he's not eligible for because his name is Inigo Montoya, you killed his father, prepare to die.

 Fun fact: Bryan Cranston has won 3 out of the 4 times he's been nominated in that category for Breaking Bad. His first loss came this year to Damian Lewis.

I really wanted him to win 4/4. He completely deserves it.

I haven't seen any recent Breaking Bad (currently mid way through series 3) but surely it's good that someone else has won for a change? As good as I'm sure Cranston is, someone different winning is always welcome, no?

And vad3r, I wouldn't say 'nutter.' That's slightly insensitive. But I thought she played the unhinged, bi-polar (wasn't it?) Carrie perfectly.

- The winners are picked the same way as the Oscars. All the actors/directors/writers etc on the board watch everything nominated and place their votes.

- It's nice to have a change, yes. But I'd rather the best performance wins it every time (it's only fair). And Bryan Cranston's Walter White is the best performance in any form of art.

You haven't seen Homeland though.

Lewis ran the gamut emotionally throughout the entire series as Brody, and specifically in one scene ("I loved him"). Good as Cranston's performance and portrayal of a man on a downward spiral is (again thus far, half way through series 3), he hasn't made me feel anything for the character.

But you don't watch Louie, Parks and Recreation, Community, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Spartacus, South Park (yes it's still as good as ever), Dexter and some more I'm forgetting either. But you watch Modern Family (I think), which is great. The difference is you prefer more episodic/case of the week dramas and I'm more into darker serialised ones.

Oh, I don't watch Modern Family, I'm not really a sit-com guy. I watch Homeland (which is dark and serialised), I watched American Horror Story, I watch The Walking Dead and I actually do watch Game of Thrones, don't know where you got the idea that I don't. I am going to watch Louie at some point, though, been meaning to for a while, just haven't yet. I do like Louie C.K. Oh, and Criminal Minds is pretty dark for a network show. I'm amazed at what they get way with sometimes on that show.

And I watched South Park in my early 20s. been there, done that

I don't have a point, just wanted to see what shows you still watch and discuss it. My memory was hazy so there might have been a few mistakes there.

It's good that you're going to give Louie a try, I can't stress the brilliance of that show. It's the best comedy on TV. Let me know what you think of it when you finish S1. It's quite short (13 episodes a season) and each season is better than the last. I highly recommend Parks and Recreation too. It's a fun, happy show with one of the best casts on TV. Just skip or fast forward through the first season.

Criminal Minds is darker than Bones, Castle or CSI, but it's still an episodic show. I really can't stand case-of-the-week dramas, almost made me stop watching Supernatural (glad I didn't).

Apart from the ones I mentioned in my above post, vad3r, can you name three to five shows I currently watch? Doctor Who is not allowed as you already know I watch that

Hmm off the top of my head... Hawaii Five-0, Castle, Fringe, Daily Show, Sherlock, Newsroom, Supernatural? Bones? And some other Abrams/Spielberg produced ones I think/guess.
